The Diplomat Hotel Restaurant & Spa

The evening meal was very good and the service was friendly in the restaurant. There were only 2 other diners in the restaurant the evening of our stay. No customer focus from the staff on duty on our arrival.

The room was very basic given the room rate. Beds not comfortable and generally a very ‘1980’s” feeling about it. Very dated and disappointing.

The location was ideal for my husbands work commitments. The use of a pool and spa was ideal for me. Plenty of choice for evening meal and breakfast. Staff were pleasant and knowledgeable.

I couldn't fault the hotel or staff.

Room was big ! But bathroom smelt really bad had to leave fan on. To try & keep smell out of room. Decor is old & outdated. Needs refurbing.

The Diplomat has such a great ambience.From the minute we arrived and had a warm Welsh welcome from Rhian the receptionist it set the tone for the entire stay. ALL the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and it was lovely to meet the owners who were always on site. Nothing was too much trouble.The accommodation was so comfortable,modern, newly furnished,decorated and spotlessly clean. The food was fabulous as well!Full use of spa and gym was available which my husband made use of.The hotel is also in a lovely location. Will 100% stay here next time we are in Llanelli.

The staff were welcoming. Our room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent and we were looked after by Liz, who is really an asset. We would book here again.

While I only stayed for one night, the staff were really friendly and the room was well appointed and immaculately clean. Bed was comfy although perhaps a little too soft for my liking - not the hotel's fault that though!! Bar area is nice and relaxed, and they do a good merlot :-)

The window in the room was quite draughty, heavy winds on the night meant that at times it was a little noisy, could do with resealing. Other than that, can't think of anything

Das Personal war freundlich und bemüht. Die kostenfreie Parkmöglichkeit direkt beim Hotel ist angenehm. Das Zimmer war groß und ruhig.

Der Wellnessbereich ist wenig ansprechend. Als Hotelgast kann man die Sauna, das Dampfbad und den kleinen Pool ohne Aufpreis nutzen, was positiv hervorzuheben ist. Aber... Man erhält an der Rezeption im Wellnessbereich lediglich ein Badetuch, einen Bademantel und Badeschuhe erwartet man vergeblich; ein nicht zeitgemäßer Umstand, vor allem dann nicht, wenn der Wellnessbereich explizit als inkludierte Leistung erwähnt wird. Im Dampfbad befanden sich am Boden mehrere tote Regenwürmer. Der Mitarbeiter entfernte diese gleich nach dem wir ihm dies mitgeteilt hatte, dennoch ist so etwas ein No-Go. Die wenig einladenden Liegen und der Ruhebereich sind direkt beim Pool, der Sauna und dem Dampfbad. Entspannung kommt hier nicht auf. Hier sind Verbesserungen erforderlich. Das Abendessen war in Ordnung, dass ich aber erst bei der Bestellung daraufhin gewiesen wurde, dass das von mir gewünschte Gericht nicht verfügbar ist, deutete nicht gerade auf ein gutes Service hin. Das Frühstück war auf unserer einwöchigen Reise durch das südliche Wales das schlechteste. Kaffee und Orangensaft einfach nur traurig. Das restliche Angebot in Bezug auf Präsentation, Geschmack und Auswahl ebenfalls.

Staff were very helpful and the whole experience was worth the visit, will be revisiting.
