Large clean comfortable room, nice staff

Value for money could be better - also the "included breakfast" is very minimalistic

We loved staying at Posada Aguila Real. The staff were really helpful and kind to let us leave our bags. The showers were great and it was really clean all the time. Breakfast was great as well.

The room is big, the big bed

The staff is very unfriendly. Especially the ladies who make the breakfast barely speak or react to you, they just eat non stop themselves. We didn't receive any information from the staff. They charged us a lot just for eggs even so the breakfast is supposed to be included without telling us before. The door of the room has a window without curtain, so you cannot make the room dark

The free breakfast was coffee, 2 slices of toast and jam, and fruit. It was perfectly adequate, but nothing like what the photos on here suggest. Pay extra for eggs. The beds were massive. The location was convenient for the ADO bus station and collectivos to the ruins. They let us leave our bags and also sit in a sofa area until our night bus - although quite reluctantly for the latter. Had hot water, aircon was handy.

The street is sketchy, there were sex workers, and shops with bars on their front where you had to order items through a grate. Men staring. And my partner was randomly touched in the street. Palenque in general is very sketchy, grim, just overall not worth visiting. We were looking forward to a bit of a safe sanctuary with this hotel but were disappointed. The sliding doors from our room on to the patio didn't lock. There was also a window from the corridor into our room, one pane was not blurred out so you'd see everything. We also found the staff to be standoffish, but okay.
