Posada Aguila Real

I really liked this place unfortunately I had to move on and only stayed 1 night. Great location, 5 minutes walk to the center, comfy bed, secure parking. Yum breakfast. Fantastic staff.

The Posada represents excellent value. We decided to stay downtown and use a Colectivo to visit the ruins and parked our motorcycle in the safe parking across the road. Everything was great, hot water, breakfast, Aircon and bed. You think you are arriving on a funny little street but the main Avenida and the Plaza are both just two blocks away. The town itself is quite lively and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Not that many tourists about in town - presumably everyone else stats on the outskirts? Thoroughly recommend staying here and in town - though it is HOT!!

Beware the Evangelical Church with microphone! Not really an issue but quite noisy when on! All adds to the flavour! We loved our Saturday and Sunday night here.

The owner/manager was waiting for us and checked in, even though we came by bus much later than expected, about 10 p.m. far from the deadline for check in. She was also very helpful whenever we asked anything, including a trip to Bonampac/Yaxchilan. Good breakfast to our liking. The hotel is beautiful and centrally located within walking distance from the bus station and the central street and square. Many nice, inexpensive cafes and restaurants in this street.

It was somewhat noisy in the night. The view from the window on the neighboring roof is not very beautiful, although it provided light in the morning.
