Lion's Rest

This property had such a good feel to it. Very good vibes. Amazing food!! And the staff was just amazing. Super friendly and always made an effort to speak to us and catch up which we loved.

We had the best four nights at Lion’s rest, it was the favourite part of our trip in Sri Lanka as it was really what we were looking for at the end of our two week visit. The staff at the Lion’s rest are exceptionally good. We were warmly welcomed by Sunil and Ayesh, and all the staff, we were totally looked after throughout the stay and made to feel really at home. As well as being in a peaceful village with quiet beaches and little natural swimming pool down the way, you can watch surfers with a beer on the beach or have some down time by the pool. A lovely family friendly resort, we enjoyed the quiet of the area while still having nice little restaurants, beach shacks and businesses around. I had such an excellent surf lesson with Lucky, incredibly experienced and a very safe pair of hands. You can also sign up for yoga classes at the hotel. You have Weligama a short tuk tuk away, as well as the train station or buses that can take you up the coast to Galle or south to Marissa. Our room and bathroom were so cosy, and very clean. We had a spacious bathroom, beach towels and a little deck outside of our room. Breakfast also delicious, many options, all superb.
