The Wyndham Hotel

Location, size of bedroom and bathroom and staff

The toilet was too close to the wall, the shower floor was dangerously slippery and I had to move the tv to use the mirror as it was I front of it

We waited from 1330 until 1430 to try to check in, none of the contact numbers worked, our details were left open on the reception computer along with other guests in the hotel and the fire alarm was in fault. I then walked up to clearwell castle to see if there were any staff there. At 1500hrs a staff member came down and checked us in. We went up the stairs to our room and on entering the room, the beds were unmade and dirty laundry on the floor.

90 minutes to check in. Breach of GDP Poor fire safety RRO. Room not made up and dirty. Had to leave the venue, shower and change at the local golf club and drove home after the party as we had nowhere to stay. Please refund my money. Manager is aware.

Nothing worth mentioning

It was self check in so no staff. No food or drink only at the Castle up the road. Room was like a youth hostel and the shower was ineffective. Furniture definition needs an upgrade. Breakfast at the castle, included in our room price at the Wyndham, was a shambles. Self service in a gloomy very small area. Plates were side plates necessitating those who wanted more than 2 items filled with 2 plates or queue again. Food was acceptable at best. I have stayed in many places and am a frequent traveller, but the Wyndham, whatever star rating it has, is too high!

It was clean. The castle was absolutely beautiful. I can't complain about the castle.

The double bed was 2 singles put together. It was very uncomfortable. The sheets were ripped at the corners and didn't fit the bed and kept coming off the corners. The kettle didn't work properly. There was no plug socket near the kettle so we had to plug the kettle in on the floor. There was no staff at the Wyndham when we arrived or during the stay. The breakfast was not acceptable. The bacon was burnt, there was only bacon, sausage, hash browns and the coffee was cold. There was no beans, mushrooms, tomato, or eggs at the Wyndham for breakfast. The stay at the Wyndham was not worth £160 a night.

Friendly staff, comfy bed, shower was great, breakfast was really good 👍 😋

I needed to amend my booking, I tried calling 20 + times and got an answer machine everytime, not good

Location was fine as we were attending a Wedding at Clearwell Castle. No problem with them Breakfast

At check-in they could not fined our booking. Eventually they did.

Location was perfect as we were attending a Wedding at Clearwell Castle. Accommodation was fine, we were in the Lodge next to the main hotel with a large bedroom and bathroom very clean.
