Don't let the drive mislead you, as the automated shutters open, the magnificence of the hotel on the other side will leave you in awe. 33 Lake Terrance has quite easily topped the list of the best hotels we've stayed at Sri Lanka (7 in total). The views, the decor, the cleanliness (in particular for someone with mild OCD like myself), the comfort of the room. The only hotel where the power plugs were positioned conveniently, full length mirror, lighting and the view from the room were ace. I was so impressed with everything about the hotel. But this is not even the best thing. Its staff, their warmth, professionalism, engaging nature, nothing was too much trouble. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and shall certainly be returning myself.

Hard to find anything to criticise here. The only thing that I had noticed was the drains in the shower overfilled quickly which meant that during a shower, the shower tray was quickly drowning in water. Not a negative per se but probably worth highlighting.

A great place for a scenic getaway from Hikkaduwa's buzz. The whole hotel is very! stylish, in a queit location. Lovely pool. Comfy room. Lots of spots to chill and watch the lake. Looks exactly like in photos. Food was delish. The hotel team were very kind to address every single question I had. I also had a superb conversation with Mr. Panduka, the hotel manager. Thank you very much for so many insights about the country and culture! I enjoyed my stay a lot. Recommend opting rooms with a balcony here for fresh air and superior views over the lake at any time.

Not a big deal but wifi was a little slow a few times however why use it when in this place?

The location is amazing, right on the lagoon. You can see the local fisherman every day :). The hotel manager and the staff were super friendly and helpful. They organized for us great sunset boat safary with one local fisherman. The room was spacious, incredibly decorated and the bathroom was just wow!

I think this is by far the highest review I've ever left for a property in my 10 years of traveling! Staying at 33 Lake terrace was a true experience rather than just another hotel stay. It's ideal if you're looking for a relaxing getaway to disconnect from the hustle bustle of touristy areas. Hikkaduwa beach area is 10min by car if you want to go there but we opted to stay the 2 days at the hotel! Location: It's situated in the middle of the lush jungle overlooking Hikkaduwa lake. It's a bit secluded but this is way this property is special! you get immersed in the nature around you away from people and disturbance. We stayed in the room on the ground floor and the view was just marvelous! Room and amenities: Room is spacious and has everything you need. Super comfy bed, seating area, a small lounger on the terrace. The bathroom is really something else! Ver Bali style bathroom with a bathtub in the middle and glass ceiling for natural light to come in. We just loved it! The infinity pool is very nice! Staff: For me this was the highlight of the place! Mr. Panduka, the property manager took very good care of us. He's such a kind, humble and generous person! We had such interesting conversations with him! He's a hospitality expert with passion about tourism and gave us many good tips about places to visit in Srilanka. He and the full staff made sure to offer a personalized service with superb attention to details. Food: The chef asks you ahead of time about the meal you'd like to have. Every single meal we had was really exceptional! Lake tour: the hotel offers a very nice lake tour on a traditional raft with one stop to see the cinnamon fields and a small view point. We also saw many birds around the lake. Very nice relaxing tour. I want to thank mr. Panduka again for his kindness and generosity. I definitely recommend this place and cannor wait to visit again!
