Hotel The Silk Route

The rooms are nice and warm. The property is well maintained and rooms are very spacious and clean. We loved the big windows with bench.

I wish they provided some basic toiletries and coffee/tea option.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful room with nooks and amazing view over the fort. Breakfast was good too. I would also like to comment on other people writing this was next to a “slum” which in their opinion was a bad thing. The people and especially the kids living around the hotel were extremely friendly and instead of mindlessly writing a comment like that you should go over, talk to them and make a connection. You might even meet some cute puppies.

Pillows were a bit too dirty but when we told them we immediately got other ones. Smoking should be banned in the eating area. Laundry service was quite expensive, but all in all good value for money.

We stayed four nights and appreciated the staff's responsiveness. Room was comfortable and clean. Rooftop restaurant was good and very convenient. We liked being able to order food and have it delivered to our room.

It is not necessarily in the hotel's control, but there is an aspect that was very unpleasant. The walk to hotel from main street (50-60 meters) was uncomfortable with assertive and persistent begging from children (they would follow and try to touch you all the way from street to hotel) and the more aggressive than usual street dogs . It made my wife not want to go out alone. We have traveled widely in India and have encountered street dogs and beggers before but this was a whole other level of intimidation. Room choices in the hotel are on the level with reception where it can be noisy or on the roof top next to the restaurant and with noise from other roof top restaurants.

Clean, comfortable rooms. terrace restaurant has a great view of the fort. Akbar was very helpful with whatever we needed and we had great conversation with him. There was even an extra blanket when we came in the winter.

Nothing! Everything was perfect! Just would suggest a rod/ rack for hanging clothes.

Property was good and well maintained

The room was quite big and neat.The room boy Akbar was very helpful in explaining various attractions of Jaisalmer.

Access to the hotel is not good. Toiletries need improvement.

The staff especially mentioned Akbar who was an all rounder to provide all the services(From pick and drop from train station to hotel,preparing breakfast and dinner,cleaning rooms providing amenities)

The location could have been better.

Friendly and helpful staff, organizes private camel safaris in the desert, which are highly recommended. We thoroughly enjoyed ours with Sanju and Hakeem. Breakfast is cooked fresh and served outside with a nice view on the fort. Don't forget to bring warm clothes in the winter!

Nothing to complain. The water heater is turned on upon request. Anything anytime, just ask the staff and they'll help immediately.
