Hotel The Silk Route

The Location The hotel is situated about one kilometer away from the Jaisalmer fort. One can walk 15 minutes to the fort. The roof top had a beautiful view of the fort, especially at night. The Staff Mr Akbar, helped to make our stay comfortable. He was already there to assist at all times. He was a one man army maintaining the entire hotel premises with cleaning, doing the check in formalities and ensuring needs of guest were timely fulfilled. The Room The room was large and spacious. The bed was neat, tidy and comfortable. The AC was very effective and cooled the room in no time. The room had a cupboard, table, chair and lamps with all bulbs in working condition. The Washroom We had a private Washroom. It was large, spacious and clean. The bath space was separate with a glass cabin.

The location is a bit offbeat and in one of the bylanes. Difficult to find in the first go. The road upto the hotel is unclean, as local population stay nearby. The room could have served complimentary mineral water or complimentary RO water, as Jaisalmer get pretty hot during the day. The bathroom could have a geyser. The water gets cold in the evening and early morning hours.

Nice and helpful staff. The city can be reached easily by foot.

The first night we were given a room without windows to the outside, which was not very nice but the night after they changed us to a much better one, so ok. To access the place by foot one has to walk uphill next to the houses of a few families, so we'd see them outside or hearing them talking at different times. It didn't bother us though, the uphill through a road that was not in good conditions was more annoying. And I didn't like that this was the only hotel in all our visit to India where they didn't charge us the original price of Booking.com, but they added a few more "due to taxes". That was weird.

This property was quite affordable and has great location. You might find Akbar at the time of your stay who’s one of the staff members, He’s very attentive and helpful. Helped me during and after my stay as well.

Location. View. Polite staff. Safari with Jeep and Mr Dilip was perfect!

Sheets and towels were old and torn. Room was not so clean. Crane in the bathroom was loose. Toilet was dripping. 45 min wait for breakfast: 2 pancake banana’s (staff did apologize for this) Please guys: you have a perfect location and a nice hotel. Take a bit more care of the details and repair things. These will make your product better.

Value for money. Beautiful view of fort from the room. Reasonable rates.

There is no road to connect directly. You have to walk through the narrow lane with your heavy luggage to reach reception. Otherwise a good hotel.

Property is located at perfect location , has a good view of Jaisalmer fort from roof. The staff at reception was very well behaved and helpful.

Roof of the hotel need to be developed soon for restaurant purpose. Kindly focus on more amenities inside the room like more wider curtains, telephone, room service etc.
