Hotel The Silk Route

They arranged pickup from the train station at 12am with very little notice from our end at a reasonable price. Communication throughout our stay was exceptional. We only ate there once on our last night and were very happy with the taste and price. Akbar was very helpful throughout our stay, recommending places to visit, offering transportation if required, etc. They had live folk music playing at night which was nice. The rooftop restaurant has beautiful views of the Jaisalmer fort.

The room we were given looked different from the photos we saw in our booking. We raised this with the staff who advised there are multiple rooms of the same type and the ones with better view and a bit bigger were already allocated to guests who had arrived earlier during the day ( - we reached late on the night of our booking). This wasn't a deal breaker though.

We had a lovely time staying at the comfortable rooms of the silk route, with a wonderful terrace with a view of the fort, and the sound of neighbouring musicians practicing at night. Mostly we loved the staff, especially Akbar and Guman, who quickly became friends. The owner M. Dilip was also very kind and generous. A most recommended place to stay in Jaisalmer !

The served food had hair on it and the owner even not apologised for the same

Staff is courteous and helpful. It’s a small property and walkable to fort and havelis.

It’s oddly situated with a lot of construction and local houses. Due to this accessing by car is a bit tricky and also the locals were making a lot of noise and ruckus which is disturbing.
