Splendour Residence

The hosts were very accommodating and got anything that we requested. The view of the lake was beautiful and the environment was very peaceful. These days in Sri Lanka it is hard to find a vacation spot that is not crowded but this place was perfectly quiet. Also the room was amazing! The pool was beautifully kept and maintained.

It would have been nice to have breakfast or dinner included in the price of the room. Also the parking was very limited so you should probably drive a small or medium vehicle here. Getting to the location was a bit of a challenge but it was part of having a quiet place.

I don't know where to start. The place is just magical. It's completely in nature and has an amazing view over the lake. The surroundings are peaceful far away from any noise. The rooms are the biggest I've stayed in here in Sri Lanka and very luxurious. Also the balcony is huge and you can sit down and just enjoy the view on bird island and the lake as well as from your bed when you're waking up. The swimming pool was nice and refreshing and I had it all by myself. Besides the great place the hospitality was on a next level. My mornings have started with a refreshing homemade juice/smoothie that was brought to my room and free of charge. What a great start to the day. Furthermore, the owner arranged a private boat tour on the lake to visit the small islands such as Cinnamon island and I even could see a small crocodile on the tour. The tour took over 3 hours and it was no mass tour. Also, he recommended a great tour guide for Yala National Park and Ella. The dinner I had at the hotel was amazing. You can taste that he was previously working in a 5 star restaurant as a chef. Thanks again for everything and I definitely will come back the next time I'm visiting Sri Lanka.

Nothing, only that I couldn't stay longer

We were very lucky to choose this place for our holiday in this beautiful country, and had an amazing experience at Splendour Residence!Probably one of the best places we have ever been to on our little planet. The views are outstanding , place is quiet and very peaceful. The food is delicious, and we been introduced to full Sri Lanka cuisine by probably one of the best chefs in Sri Lanka. Owners of residence were very welcoming, helpful and polite. We highly recommend this place for your holiday if you would like to run away from noisy environment and enjoy magic views of nature . Big thank you for hosting us and making our stay so exceptional! We are looking forward to coming back!

My experience was exceptional. The hotel owner, Niroshan, personally greeted me at the airport when I arrived, and provided transfer. During my stay, he generously upgraded my room to one with a better view, at no extra cost. The spacious rooms were quite comfortable, and the dinners offered at the hotel were consistently satisfying. What truly made my stay memorable was the hospitality extended by Niroshan. He organized a river safari for me and my friend, one evening he took me on a trip to Galle with his family. To top it off, one evening, Niroshan and his wife prepared a special dinner featuring local dishes, which they graciously offered free of charge. Overall, Splendour Residence provided not only a comfortable stay but also a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it a standout choice for visitors seeking a delightful experience in the area.

This is hidden gem. The view, vibe and architectural design of the place is beyond what I expected.

Its bit hard to locate it via google maps. Though the road to place is quite good.

First of all I would like to thank the hotel owner Niroshan and his wife Lakshmi for their hospitality and for making everything for our comfortable stay in Sri Lanka. The hotel itself is located in a picturesque village just above the Madhu River. The rooms have a beautiful view of the river, islands and jungle. There are only six rooms in the hotel, so Niroshan can give enough time and attention to each of the guests. Start your day with the pool and freshly squeezed fruit juice. The breakfast at the hotel is delicious and quite varied. Niroshan is a wonderful cook with years of experience, so be sure to try the dishes prepared by him. Our stay here fell on New Year's Eve, which we decided to celebrate at the hotel, which we never regretted. The hotel team organized for us an unforgettable evening with delicious food, wine, fireworks and national dances. Especially memorable was the excursion to a tea plantation and a tea factory. You should definitely visit it, you will learn a lot of interesting things about the technology of harvesting and production, as well as taste very tasty tea. Niroshan is a very interesting person and will gladly tell you about the specifics of life on the island, local traditions and history. I did not want to leave. But we will definitely come back, because there is still so much to see on the island, so much to try!
