Rockside Cabanas Hotel

We stayed in an oceanfront room with an amazing view. The room was very clean, and the hot shower had excellent water pressure. We enjoyed our meals while looking out over the sea and spent relaxing time swimming in the pool. It’s a great choice for families with children—safe, comfortable, and welcoming. The staff were friendly, efficient, and provided excellent service. Although the waves were too strong for swimming, we could watch sea turtles right from the shore. We would definitely stay here again.

The bedroom is cozy and the bed is comfortable . The bathroom is huge. The breakfast is good. The guy who serves in breakfast area is so sweet and friendly, forgot his name. The women cleaners were so sweet.

Rough sea in front, you cannot really swim, have to walk down to the right side in turtle beach area to be able to submerge or swim a bit. The resort seems to be old, lacks care but has a potential. I could see some stuffs dumped in different places like storage , not pleasing to the eyes. They have plenty of workers walking everywhere, but things like that could be easily sorted. They are repairing some cottages so construction workers roaming around , glaring at you, I did not like.

De gastvrijheid. De medewerkers deden alles om je een prettig verblijf te bieden. Ondanks dat we voor hun in het winterseizoen waren, augustus voor ons, waren ze beleefd. Het eten was erg lekker. Er hadden naar mijn mening wel wat meer Sri Lankaanse gerechten op de kaart gemogen. In de buurt is er naast de plaats Galle genoeg te beleven.

Helaas vinden de machinisten van de treinen het nodig om te toeteren. Maakt ze niet uit hoe laat het is.

We loved our stay at Rockside Cabanas Hotel! The hotel is situated right at the beach and you can see many turtles (which swim towards you when you feed them with seaweed) right at the beach. We stayed in a very comfortable and spacious family room. The room was decorated with beautiful (local) art and had a nice mix of the comforts of a modern hotel room with beautiful old features. We also enjoyed our breakfast and lunch here and just want to give a special shoutout to the amazing staff! They really go above and beyond to please you and make your stay as comfortable as possible! We also visited beautiful Galle from here, which is only 15 min by TukTuk.

Location is fab! Staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was fantastic and clean. Breakfast was nice. Overall, a nice stay - lovely pool for kids.

Had to ask if they had more sunbeds as we went 2 days without one (family of 4) and the other 5 beds were taken from early morning. They had more, but it would have been nice if they provided them from our first day. Transfer was expensive. A breakfast menu would have been helpful, so we knew the choices available, although the food was fresh and sufficient.
