Kefalonia Bay Palace

We had a great time at the Kefalonia Bay Palace, and loved everything about the hotel. The location is amazing – our room had a fantastic view of the sea – we kept the curtains open at night so that we could see the sunrise in the morning. It was wonderful. We had a really generous sized room, which was more like a little apartment, with a large secluded balcony. The bathroom was a good size and everything was spotlessly clean. We loved the little details – like complimentary robes and slippers. The pool was much larger than we imagined and super clean and inviting. There was always space to sit there and some shady spots too (which I needed). The pool bar is well run. Breakfasts were amazing – so much choice at the buffet. Everything you could want. (I have food allergies, but easily found lots of options.) We also ate dinner at the hotel, and couldn't believe the four course menu for just 25 euros. Everything was excellent and the waiting staff were brilliant too. We booked a couple of excursions via Maria on reception – she was super helpful and the trips were great. The main reason for our trip was to relax and for my partner to swim, and the little beach is just a five minute walk away. With that and the pool he was very happy. The hotel loan you towels and umbrellas for the beach – another lovely detail. The town itself is really lovely and just a ten-minute walk from the hotel along the seafront. There are plenty of lovely tavernas (and little shops) to choose from. Very highly recommended.

Very pleasant hotel situated at the far end of Agia Effimia bay with views across the bay to Sami. Good sized room with balcony and sea views. Adequate bathroom facilities. Comfortable bed and adequate wardrobe space. Seating area. Excellent pool area with poolside bar and plenty of seating/sunbeds. Pleasant balcony breakfast area with good selection of food options available

As with many others on the islands, the hotel rises against the hillside and whilst this ,makes for spectacular views it does mean that there are a lot of steps to climb (offset by three lift areas) and the drive up to the upper car park is not for the faint hearted. The walk back from town after dinner certainly helped the digestion.

Amazing views and very attentive staff. The food was generally good, and sometimes excellent - particularly the lamb, which was melt in the mouth. The staff were really lovely and bent out of their way to help, such as when we arrived too late for food, but they found us something to eat anyway, and when my husband got food poisoning from another restaurant, drinks and anti sickness medication was delivered to our room. The pool had views that were to die for and the rooms were bigger than expected, with most rooms seeming to have excellent views. In terms of the surrounding area, we’d recommend Amalia and Sea Rock as alternative nearby restaurants.

There was a slight feel that maybe not enough money was being spent on the hotel, though this didn’t detract from the experience. It certainly isn’t appropriate for those with mobility issues, though there are lifts to get from the main hotel to the rooms on higher levels (but not all the way down to the pool). You’d probably want to avoid taking small children for that reason alone. You will certainly benefit from having a car too, especially if the idea of climbing over 10 flights of stairs to get from the beach back to your room doesn’t appeal (though we saw some people running it, so maybe we’re just lazy)! Finally, just be aware that Greece has a policy of not flushing loo roll; this isn’t specific to this hotel, but certainly something to get used to if you’re not expecting it!

A vista do quarto e do Hotel são lindíssimos! O Hotel fica numa posição privilegiada onde se tem uma vista linda!

Não gostei da parte interna do quarto, apesar do quarto ter uma vista linda que é o que vale muito a pena, o quarto é muito antigo, com uma decoração muito antiga e a cama é dupla e não de casal (juntam as camas para virar uma cama de casal)

The pool area with the spectacular views! Just amazing. This is the reason we booked this hotel and it did not disappoint. Also very nice that there was a pool bar where we could get drinks. And lovely staff in the hotel!

Like other reviews also indicate, the hotel is very outdated. The rooms are fine and clean, but could definitely use a renovation. Also, the pool bar often closed a bit earlier than indicated.

Vermutlich die beste Lage auf der gesamten Insel. Am Ende einer Strasse direkt an der Küste und somit schön ruhig. Auch ist die Anordnung der Zimmer genial, so dass man von jedem Zimmer auf das Meer sehen kann.

Die Hotelzimmer wurden anscheinend noch nie renoviert. Ich hatte das Gefühl ich wäre bei meiner Oma zu Besuch. Auch war das Duschen als 1,87 Meter grosser Mann, stehend in der Badewanne nicht so angenehm, da der Schlauch zu kurz war. Ebenfalls negativ aufgefallen sind die Angestellten am Pool sowie beim Morgenbuffet. Diese schienen sehr unmotiviert!
