Overlander Hotel

Location. Distance from hotel facilities. Ease of check-in.

The bathroom window didn’t close and neither did the bathroom door. The room had a microwave but no plates or cutlery. The toilet was leaking on the floor.

Staff were lovely and the hot water and pressure in the shower was amazing.

Rooms are old, cobwebs in all the corners, cracks in the crevices, toilet wouldn't flush properly and had to fiddle with the button to stop the water running, couldn't see the ground of the porch as it was covered with dead leaves, sliding door had a half cm gap even when locked. Found a pair of old crusty ladies underwear on the top shelf of the cupboard and the laundry room was a mess with the appliances just plonked any which way. Only stayed for 2 nights until our other accommodation had availability so it did the job of giving us somewhere to sleep but we were glad to move on.

Staff were helpful and cheery when l bought issues to their attention.

The reception sign is on an actual motel room, not reception. Drove around, found reception, locked with a sign saying go to the Bistro to check in. No one in attendance, called out several times and was initially told no key for me. Told the lovely helpful young lady l had booked with booking .com. l was asked if l had already paid for the room, which l had. She found a key to a room and said that must be it. I went to the room and entered. Then the young lady turned up and said l needed to go back to reception with her. Her manager said to give me a key to another room. By now it had taken me some time to check in! My room had tiles missing on the bathroom floor, there were only paper cups and plastic spoons for tea or coffee, a jug, microwave and toaster were provided but no knives or plates. The walls above the benches had a fresh coat of paint but underneath looked dirty. There was no remote for the tv. I requested one and was initially told there may not be one! I was unimpressed by this. The young lady returned maybe half an hour later with a remote. She was most helpful telling me remotes were quite often stolen which is just awful. The outside sitting area, not the carport area hadn't been cleaned for an awful long time and was very shabby. The bed was comfortable
