Location, friendly staff

Really poor cleaning. Bathroom in particular looked like it hadn't been cleaned at all, the toilet had brown spots all around the back of it, really grubby walls and skirting boards etc. We didnt report it to staff as we didnt want to be delayed waiting while they cleaned it on only a 1 night stay. Bed was ok but due to the cleaning in the rest of the room we didnt sleep great.

Wir hatten 2 Zimmer, die leider beide nicht besonders komfortabel waren. Das Zimmer mit Kingsize Bett ging zur Straße raus,war total laut, das Bett war durchgelegen und quietschig. Das Zimmer im Dachgeschoss hatte auch ein quietschiges Bett und es ließ sich kein Fenster öffnen. Es war sehr stickig. Wir haben alle wenig geschlafen. Die Betreiber waren allerdings sehr freundlich und haben sich sehr bemüht. Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Insgesamt kann man dort schon übernachten, aber das Preis Leistungsverhältnis im Vergleich zu den anderen Hotels der Reise war nicht ganz passend. Woanders wurde mehr Komfort geboten fürs Geld. Man könnte mehr aus dem Laden machen mit bequemeren Betten und einem ansprechenderen Äusseren,wobei die Fassade gerade gestrichen wurde. Das macht sich sicherlich gut.

Der Burger zum Abendessen bestand aus Fertig-Patties. Die Handtücher rochen zwar stark nach Weichspüler aber sobald sie nass wurden rochen sie nicht sauber.

The staff were really friendly and helpful and the accommodation was really comfortable and clean and the food was great and a good selection of beers and cider at the bar. It's a great location for the nearby forest walks and loads too do if you want to explore the surrounding areas.

They have made an effort to have a reasonable standard in the rooms, they are well decorated and reasonably clean.

I almost didn't enter the premises it looked so unkempt! The car park is very untidy, the patio area outside the pub is filthy, worth weeds all over the place. The entrance door is un painted, the entrance way is not clean, dog hairs all over the carpet, and the whole place smelt strongly of dog! My room was reasonably clean, however whatever the management use on the bed linen (possibly fabric conditioner or spray room freshener) it was way to strong, I had difficulty getting used to it.

The staff were friendly.

The room was old and dated,with mixed matched furniture. The shower was mouldy. The bathroom floor needs replacing. It was the hottest day. Unable to open a window. The room was also on the road side of the property. I walked in the room, saw the facilities. Picked my stuff up and left. Drove back to London. I can’t spend a night it that room.
