Friendly, good food

Sadly this was not the best for me, I asked for my room to be changed as it smelt and had no ventilation. I struggled to shut the door. In the new room which was an improvement sadly when I sat on the bed I sank into the mattress. Again there were issues with the door which was warped and it took my body weight to open and close it.

The room was dirty with dead insects on the window seal and also paid for a deluxe room and there was nothing deluxe about it. Tv didn’t work the WiFi wasn’t working so had to cancel two teams meetings. The breakfast was cheap meat and just horrible also the pictures used on booking.com are very old as the pub is run down and dirty. Also the bed broke during the night while I was sleeping. I also go lt this at a cheaper rate but it is no way worth anywhere near what they are charging the bar staff were helpful but even she seemed embarrassed to show me to the room. Also found stain on the bed sheets overall not impressed And loads of marks on walls and end of the bed If your saying something is deluxe then it has to be tip top. Would not recommend or stay here

Great location, staff very friendly and helpful and a clean and comfortable room. This is my second time staying and I wasn't disappointed

Really friendly staff and locals. We arrived in time for Thursday steak night which was really tasty. Very dog friendly which was great for us. Good location for Forest of Dean visit and Littledean jail.

Unfortunately we were not advised about the breakfast situation on booking, it was only being served between 630-730 and had to be pre booked. So we didn’t have this. We were in need of a lie in as had walked loads in the Forest of Dean.
