"Gratefull"

10.0

We went to La Guajira for a few days for some cultural business and also enjoy the festival "francisco el hombre", we also showcased what we can offer, so we had allot of prepping to do. The staff was amazing, helping us getting our luggages & tools up the stairs, but what amazed me more than anything was the kitchen staff, they welcomed us and allowed us to use their kitchen to do our prepping, and most importantly they helped us with the prepping, they were very friendly, very open to learn and very open to teach us what they know. I loved everyday i was there, and enjoyed every second with the kitchen staff. 5 stars for me, for the wonderful experience!

"Very bad hotel"

2.0

There are so many better places in Riohacha than this one. However, if you’d like to go to a place that gives you noise, cold water, poor breakfast and bad, shaky furniture then rush to it. Windows would not even shut down adequately and location is not great either Service is ok, that’s the upside. But frankly that’s a very meager point compared with all negatives. Again, there is so much better around for similar price.

"Neat and near everything. Highly recommended!!"

8.0

It was our first time in Riohacha and we decided to go and stay in Ribai hotel since it is new and very affordable. Other hotels will be more expensive since they're in front of the sea, however, we weren't looking for that since you can't bathe in Riohacha's beaches (little polluted). As I mentioned, the hotel is almost new so all the facilities are really neat. One important thing is that the hotel doesn't have elevator since it has few levels, furthermore the rooms start at the level 3 (which they call level 2) since the hotel start in a higher level (2) as the first floor has some stores. When you arrive you'll see the huge sign of the hotel and the stairs at the entrance, these stairs will take you to the lobby, restaurant and auditoriums, after the lobby you'll find the stairs that'll take you to the rooms. So I wouldn't recommend this hotel for the elderly or people with knee/legs problems since you'll have to climb a lot of stairs. There's a little space in front of lobby with computers and internet so you can use them. I didn't get WI-FI inside my room but I never asked at the lobby for this either and to be honest during my stay I preferred to use my data. I suggest to ask for this as soon as you get there (or if you're calling the hotel). The staff is super friendly, as there are a lot of stairs they helped us with AAAAALLLLL our bags and trust me they were many since we were a huge group. We even had great conversations and they recommended places in town to visit, during our stay we always were greeted with great smiles but of course because we were friendly as well since the beginning. Please don't forget to be kind to staff people! During my stay I saw others treating staff like they were slaves, that's not ok at all!! THey work hard and in my case I can't complain AT ALL about the people who offered this service. The food was average but delicious!! I had terrible experiences in Santa Marta or Cartagena where food was really simple/disgusting, however, at Ribai Hotel they offered a delicious menu during our stay. Don't be afraid to ask if you want something changed. In my case I'm not used to eat tons during dinner, the menu that night was a lot of food (smelled soooooooo good) but I just wanted coffee and some bread, I kindly asked if I could change the menu and they did it without problems :) Still if you don't want to eat at the hotel restaurant you can ask at the lobby since there are some restaurants around the place. We stayed on level 2 (actually third floor) where there were a LOT of rooms. Our room had 2 big beds, they were super comfortable! Other things were: closet with hangers, fridge (we didn't use it and it was empty), AC, bedside table, lamp and a big TV, as you can see it has the necessary things for calm staying. Our room had a small window but we didn't pay attention to it. The bathroom has an average size and came with everything needed: towels (4, 2 for body and one for feet/floor and one for hands), shampoo, conditioner and soap. I had to mention that everything was perfectly clean so there's no complain at ALL either about the rooms. We mostly used the hotel for resting during our trip since we were mostly outside visiting beaches but there was no noise in our room whatsoever. I saw people mentioning the place is dangerous since it's in the centre, however, I could walk at night without problems, yes at some point all stores are closed but usually people is not going around at that hour, during early night there's no problem to go take a walk and visit the stores. During the day is very lively (noisy as well but not a bother for me) outside, all stores are open and there's a lot of people everywhere. Near the hotel there's a big store where you can buy food and drinks very cheap (It's called Caracas). You can walk to the beach and camellon from the hotel, it's a great walk and you can check more stores while doing so. I really liked this hotel and I've been recommending it to all my friends and relatives who are interested in visiting Riohacha. Everything was clean, food was delicious and staff were friendly. I hope to visit this hotel once again in the future!! Thanks for the great service.
