"Hidden gem"

This was our second time visiting the Bayview Hotel, previously visited in 2021 during the pandemic. The hotel is a gem and located along the coast with beautiful views of the ocean. The hotel itself is old-fashioned although since our last visit the bedrooms seem to have been updated and are more modern now. If you're looking for some seriously good food, make sure you book in for dinner while you're visiting. We still talk about how amazing the food is. In saying that, we had breakfast on both mornings and it wasn't up to the standards I'd remembered from our last visit. The waiting staff seemed to be very new and still being trained up which meant long wait times to get a drink or not knowing the dishes on the menu. There is a cliff walk close by and you're not too far away from Ballymaloe house and Ballymaloe gardens which are both lovely to visit. All in all, we'll definitely be back to the Bayview Hotel as we really like the location and evening meal.

Location

Food disappointing and not good quality or standard. Rooms were not cleaned to high standard and need wardrobes. The pegs are not good enough and donā€™t work to hang clothes.

Accommodating and nice staff! breakfast was really good as well, and the hotel is a walk away from a few restaurants/pub if you do not want to eat at the hotel!

We were initially put in one of the only rooms without a sea view, and only had a parking view. Even though they moved us as soon as we asked to a partial sea view, they should give the parking view room as a last resort when everything else is booked! The bathroom in our room did not match the pictures at all, and was pretty outdated.
