Lovely welcome, staff so friendly and accommodating throughout. Comfortable and high standard room. Great breakfast with quality produce.

The place itself is lovely, with a great car park. The room was beautiful; really nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable. The tea and coffee making facilities in the room were well stocked and the fridge came with milk instead of UHT (whoop!). The staff were all super friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was amazing.

The only thing I can think of (and it's barely a negative) is that the coffee machine is a nespresso, and there were no instructions on how to use it. As someone who doesn't have a nespresso machine it was a bit of a mystery at first. Oh, and if you're having a drink downstairs they don't have beer on tap. But they do stock bottles and cans.

Friendly welcome. Helped us when we missed a dinner reservation. Lovely room, I appreciated the GHD hair dryer and big mirror to get ready for a wedding.

Everything was way beyond expectations

What a fabulous place. We ended up in the bigger room at the back of the house away from the road and it was so big and roomy, with a lovely lounge and a terrace to spend time on. It was very comfortable with good pillows etc, and some lovely detail around the room. The breakfast was delicious and very much worth buying. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening and I can honestly say, it was spectacular. One of the best meals I've ever eaten in a restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. The food was exceptional. We would go again in a heartbeat. There were some lovely little details in the room like brownies on arrival and fresh milk rather than those little UHT cartons, and a good coffee machine.

The room at the front of the hotel was lovely but if you like quiet, you're best spending a little bit more on the bigger room at the back of the house. Both rooms were beautiful!

Breakfast was delicious. The food was amazing and really good wines.

From the beginning to the end of our stay at the Hammer and Pincers our experience was outstanding. Dinner was exceptional (as breakfast) and the Forest room was very comfortable The staff, facilities and experience were 10 out of 10 and we will return

There was nothing to dislike

Absolutely first class and faultless service from the staff, very welcoming and friendly. Top quality breakfast, comfy bed and stylish and smart looking room. The evening food looked amazing but we did not eat there due to visiting family.

We had the bedroom at the front of the building which faces onto an extremely busy and noisy road used as a cut-through by heavy goods vehicles all day and night. The traffic noise was quite loud and unacceptable, making it difficult to sleep, and I think the management should recognize this and add secondary glazing 'and' internal shutters to try to reduce the noise. It would not take much to improve on this problem; just do it for future customers! I assume the room at the back is not so affected by the traffic noise. Also some fittings in the bathroom were falling off or broken, again, the management could do with staying in the room for one night and checking for these things! If these issues could be improved it would be a great place to stay.
