Hotel La Quinta del Sol

We had a quick but wonderful stay for a friend's wedding. Nico and Mary are wonderful hosts and run a wonderful small hotel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The views from the lounging areas and rooftop are incredible. While the beach area is small and fenced off from a larger public area, it is a treat to have lounge chairs and umbrellas already set up. The location is central but quiet. We were able to walk everywhere in town. The hotel also has surf and paddleboards for rent by guests.

We loved this spot so much. I caught myself daydreaming this morning about being down there... and that was my prompt to get to this (very long overdue) review. The location is wonderful; close walk to the restaurants and town. Very relaxing and removed from the party vibes. Surf, eat, sleep, surf, eat sleep, etc etc etc etc. That's the recipe. The hosts, Nico and Mary, were incredibly welcoming and informative. True Hospitality experts. Without question, we will be heading back to this magical part of the world to stay for as long as possible. With any luck, sooner than later.

We just spent a week at this quaint beautiful hotel. The rooms were well equipped with everything you could think of. Beautiful views of the ocean all day long and the roof top even more amazing .Barbecue, hammocks soft outdoor lighting. What more can I say. Nico & Mary had thought of everything to make your stay the best.

The only thing we wished for was a king size bed.

Y’all, this place has been our favorite place year after year, and that’s who you’ll meet here, are folks who have discovered the magic of LQDS. It’s the perfect place to unwind, spend your days as you wish, whether on their private beachfront area, rooftop bar and lunge, surfing any off the nearby surf breaks, or take advantage of in-room massage offerings… you can make it your own. The icing on the cake are the caretakers Mary and Nico. Their hearts and passion for living a relaxed enjoyable life have led them here to be your muse. They’ve laid out all the wonderful things that surround Mita and the greater PV area for you to do and see if you’re up for adventure or a lovely dinner on the town. We look forward to being back again next year to complete our bingo card, having finally stayed in every room.

Instead of gifts this year my Dad rented the whole hotel for our family of 17. It was a wonderful way to spend the holiday together! We had ages 12-79 and there was something for everyone. Surfing, fishing, zip lining, whale watching and shopping. The food was fabulous and for those of us who had kids and picky eaters the kitchens in each room were perfect for being able to make breakfast or lunch. The roof top was amazing and we celebrated birthdays with a piñata and dancing. Mary and Nico were so helpful. They arranged birthday cakes for us, massages, transportation to all our outings, and confirmation of our dinner reservations and excursions. They had surf boards and boogie boards for the kids and a private beach spot was available and always set up with shade and chairs to relax and read. At night we would play cards and games at the tables outside of our rooms. The locals were friendly and helpful. One night coming home from dinner in the neighborhood there was beautiful music playing from someone’s house and the man standing outside invited us to come in and say happy birthday to his 80 year old mother! This is a local place at a locals beach and it’s a wonderful way to experience the culture and people of the area. What’s not to love about this place?!?

The location is about 25 steps from the beach. The Hotel is run by Nico and Mary- they are so accommodating and helpful and kind. The beds are so comfortable! The rooms are clean and beautiful with a kitchen that stocked! We were able to watch our friends surfing from our room. The top of the hotel is perfect for morning yoga or a group cookout. Friends, look no more. Just book it. It's my happy place. We loved it so much, we booked again for the end of February!!! Thanks Nico and Mary!!!! See you soon :)
