Boutique Hotel Alegria

Central location, walking distance to grocery stores and numerous restaurants. This hotel was formerly a huge private apartment on the second floor of a historical building, built circa 1900. Upon entering the apartment, there is no designated reception area as such. ID checks and payments are done in a small corner of the living room. Once you reach the front door facing the street downstairs, ring the bell, and they will open it electronically for you. Afterward, you are given a code to open the front door. You're given a key to enter the "apartment" ( it is enormous!) on the second floor. During the day, you may or may not see the two receptionists, who live on the premises in adjacent rooms. There are 4-5 rooms in the apartment, each with a private bathroom and AC. Additionally, two cats live in the apartment. They are adorable and cute. If you dislike cats or are allergic to them, this may not be the ideal place for you.

The receptionists are two lovely guys who speak little English, but they are polite, friendly, and helpful. The ONLY complaint is that both guys smoke in their rooms. The smell of cigarette smoke permeates the premises. It is pungent and can be truly overpowering. This is something they should not do! However, the smoking didn't happen every day; it happened only a couple of times in the 6 days I stayed there.

Cigarette smoke

Great location, host took good care of us, very clean.

Even though it’s not smoking, people in charge smoked in staff room with windows open but we could still smell cigarette smoke. It would be good to respect non smoking people
