Hotel Goldene Rose

The hotel is is inside the old town of Nordlingen. The staff, although not good in speaking English, is friendly.

The room is not clean. The bathroom floor feels sticky.

The hotel enjoys an excellent location just inside the city walls. The room was clean and comfortable if a little cramped. A good selection was provided at breakfast. Parking is also available. A good base to explore Nordlingen, which is a lovely town if a little quiet at night. The hotel staff were friendly, but a little distracted on our visit.

TV did not operate. Bathroom was compact.

Great location,room was small but good for the price.Nice breakfast,I had the steak for the evening meal outside in the courtyard and it was delicious.

We’ve been travelling through the South of Germany, the Romantic Route, and have slept in several of the small towns, however Nördlinger was by far the friendliest to us and our little Boston Terrier. The owner of the hotel was so accommodating and kind. We ate there and we really enjoyed some local dishes and wines. I would highly recommend it! It will not be a hassle for them if you bring your dog. They have a lovely young Dalmatian that says hi, but then goes to their house. Thank you for a wonderful time in Nördlinger! Stayed for just one night. Room was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the evening by sitting outside and drinking a few beers. Staff was very friendly. Parking was on the street - free. Great location right at city gates. Note : Limited food options around town on a weekday evening. Get in town early.

I read reviews of how friendly and helpful the owners are and this proved to be so true!! It was a wonderful enlightening experience! Loads of advice given - really very friendly! My son of 6 foot had to stoop for the bedroom door which made us giggle! Lovely food and atmosphere as well!

more than a hotel is the meeting place for friends of the owners who are interested to spend time with them rather than interested in the guests. They smoke like Turks and the entire hotel smells like an ashtray. It is really disgusting. The ventilation ducts carry the smell and the smoke up in the room and therefore even in your own room can't manages to breathe clean air. They have equipped all the rooms with sky TV but the soundproofing between the rooms is so nonexistent that at two in the morning Istill hear the neighbor who shows no signs of wanting to turn off the damn TV. a nightmarish hotel do not recommend it strongly,

We arrived at Nordlingen on a whim and the Goldene Rose was the first hotel we came across - just inside the walls of the town. The apparent owner looked as if he couldn't care less but the barmaid took our booking and told us the room numbers but didn't show us the where they where. No soap in washroom, beds creaky and there was a tv or radio on all night which sounded as if came from the floor above. Breakfast was acceptable but when I offered my Mastercard as payment the wife of the owner nearly fainted and kept waving her hands saying she doesn't take cards as they were too expensive. I asked her to calm down and asked her to tell me where there was an ATM - she looked as though the card was radioactive! Having paid we scurried off without a word of thanks or bon voyage.,
