Hotel Goldene Rose

Great room, very clean. The very best of this place is the location. The lady rceiving us did not speak any English but we did manage to communicate and she was super nice.

The location was perfect and it was easy to get around the city from there.

The bedroom heater did not work. It was extremely cold all night, luckily the room I booked had 2 beds so I had an extra blanket. The host woke me up at 9am? Checkout wasn’t for another hour and a half. She then stood outside my door talking for another 20mins before finally leaving. Smelled HEAVILY of cigarette smoke in the entire building. No check out instructions. No baggage storage if you arrive early.

Unbearable and nauseating smell of smoke and nicotine in the room, with impregnated carpet, curtains and upholstery, which comes from the whole hotel, given the smell widespread in the corridors.

Excellent location

A bit noisy. When Booking.com says "no credit card required", it meant cash only. Not a problem for us at all, but might be for others.

Location was excellent. Just inside the wall. Close to free long stay parking and made walking the town great. Good size room.

We were given a front room on first floor which faced the street. This street was one of the entrances to town. Noisy traffic and passer-by’s underneath frequently disturbed our sleep. We had to have windows open because it was hot, so noise travelled up.

Staff were very nice, efficient and the breakfast was very good.

I'm not picky about furniture but the whole place felt too cluttered and very dated (e.g. chairs in the dining area could do with replacing and the rooms had too many items of furniture for the size of room).

The staff lady was kind and that’s the best thing I found in this hotel.

Only a small window which you can’t look outside, too small single room and a bit shabby walls and the carpet. You wouldn’t wish to stay another night.
