"Nice family hotel"

8.0

My family stayed at Royal Place Hotel and enjoyed our stay. The staff was very helpful and the hotel was very clean. A 15 minute walk to the east and there is a large store called Big C where we stocked up on some basics before we head to Myanmar.

"Standard"

6.0

Wanted to look around do book this hotel for 4 nights, the staff don't really speak that much English but we got by. The rooms are very basic and run down they need a upgrade and overpriced for what they are. For a short stay it's probably worth it.

"Great value hotel"

10.0

I spent 2 nights at the Royal Place to do some sightseeing in Phitsanulok. The hotel is really nice, the staff are very helpful although their English is not great but Phitsanulok is not really a tourist destination. The room was very good, clean and all you want from a budget hotel. Fantastic value. As stated by the other reviews the Cafe in front of the hotel is very good.

"Great service, worth the money"

8.0

I've stayed here many times and always enjoyed it. Nice and clean room. The staff was very helpful. The parking lot is not large yet convenient and enough. The wifi service was not very high speed though. There is one of my favorite bakery and coffee shop located just in front of this hotel. Don't miss.

"Excellent hotel-big clean rooms"

10.0

Myself and my boyfriend booked. To stay here for one night-what a great choice we made! The staff are very kind and allowed us to store our bags the following day whilst we visited the sights. The room itself was very spacious, fresh looking and both the room and bathroom were very very clean ! I recommend staying here! Plus it's only a five minute walk from the bus station which is great if you're planning on visiting Sukhothai after your stay. The only "problem" as such was the wifi, it didn't work In Our room for some reason but it didn't bother us too much. We didn't manage to try the food but there is a great little cafe right across from the hotel (Ava) and there food and coffees are delicious ! Great place to stay !!

"Good base for Sukhothai"

8.0

We spent here two nights, just enough to make a trip to Sukhothai in our way down from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, by train. The room is very spacious, as it is the toilet. Everything was clean and beds were very comfortable, wifi worked properly and AC too. The staff was friendly despite their bad English. No restaurant in the hotel or at least we didn't find it - neither ask for it. It's location, as mentioned in many comments, isn't the best, since there's nothing around. However, it's in walking distance from the train station or just 60bath by taxi. And a very short walk to the bus station where you can take a bus every hour from 7am to Sukhothai (length of the journey 1hour). So in our case it was what we were looking for. In Pitsanulok we went for dinner to the night bazaar - taxi 60bath - on the first night, but on the second and after a long day visiting ruins, we stayed next to the hotel and found many small places for dinner next to the bus station, and a small stall with middle soup just 200m from the hotel.

"WRONGLY Located"

8.0

We headed for this hotel using Google Maps to guide us there. Google dropped us smack in front of the S J Tower Hotel -- declaring thru it was Royal Place. Understandable, since the names of both hotels are written in Thai script only. It was late late at night, so we settled in at the SJ, which I'll try to review under her own heading. When we walked around the corner and saw the Royal Place, we were a bit sorry to have missed it, as it's facade looked better than the SJ. There is no 7Eleven in sight of either hotel; and the only restaurant open at 11pm is a karaoke place staffed by ladyboys who appeared to be conspicuously embarrassed and inept. The food was barely edible to OK, and priced at double what you'd pay elsewhere. I don't think these are family hotels. Pretty grim neighborhood. No matter how good or bad the SJ turns out to be, I think I'll look in another part of town next visit.

"Couldn't ask for more."

10.0

For the price we paid, this hotel has everything we could have asked for. It's clean, spacious, warm shower water, AC, free coffee all day, wifi works in room. It's about 2km from train station and about 1km from main bus terminal. There are good eats and 7/11 on the door step. We stayed here for a day commute to Sukhothai, the bus leaves from near hotel every hour or so, and is about 40 baht single. As backpackers it was luxury staying here for very little baht!
