Hotel Verdigris

This is a fairly new property on the outskirts of the Phuket old town. It’s a small boutique hotel and yes, it has nice interior design. The room is clean and well designed. Shower pressure is good.

This hotel is located in front of a very busy road that is noisy all day and night. IF you are slightly sensitive to noise or if you are a light sleeper, this is NOT the place to stay! Even with earplugs, you can still hear the humming noise of the traffic all night long. It feels as if you are sleeping outside next to a freeway. The door to each room has two panels and they open out like a small closet door. Basically there is zero sound proofing from the doors. Also, the building has an open design. The rooms basically all face this busy road. You can hear a ton of traffic noise from inside the room. Even if you are staying in the back of the hotel, keep in mind it is very small hotel with 4 rooms on each floor, there are two large dogs that bark at random hours of the night at the adjacent house, and the windows in the back of the hotel room are not double paned. What I truly dislike is I booked two nights through Booking, I couldn’t get any sleep at all, so I left after one night. However, It has been extremely difficult to get a one night refund from this hotel. The staff who checked me in said the owner had agreed to a refund but it has been an ongoing struggle. I paid $480 for two nights, which is by far more expensive than anywhere else at the old town. Take your money and go elsewhere. The staff may be nice but it won’t help you get any sleep. And the owner seems a lot more difficult to deal with than what the staff promised.

The hotel was very clean, elegantly decorated with beautiful furniture and pictures, and well maintained. There was an elevator. The bed, bedding, and pillows were comfortable. The water pressure was excellent and there was plenty of hot water. The shower was large. The room had a safe. The staff were very attentive, helpful, and pleasant. The staff performed their duties quietly and skillfully. Breakfast was freshly prepared for each guest and presented well. We were pleased with the variety of international and local dishes available for breakfast. The hotel is very close to the "old town" tourist area, just a short walk (two blocks / a few minutes).

Only minor issues that would not prevent us from returning. Occasionally, we could hear some traffic and the neighbor's dogs, but not too loudly and not late at night. We stayed in their "cheapest" room (twin beds), so the layout might be different in other rooms. There was a door for the toilet and shower room, but the bathroom sink area did not have a door to separate it from the bedroom. If one person was using the toilet, the door could not be opened to provide access to the shower. The shower could have had a larger shelf for soaps and bottles. These minor issues were not a problem for us.

What a little gem, compact but beautifully elegant, impeccably decorated and centrally located to walk to the town centre and several restaurants. Communication from the start excellent and offers of assistance most welcome. Staff outstanding on every level and happy to offer lots of assistance and suggestions. Wonderful little touches like handwritten notes on tomorrows weather accompanied by herbal evening tea and personalised breakfast menus. Room compact but well appointed with small seating area and lounge, comfortable bed & pillows. A little road noise, particularly motorbikes being located at the front of the property, not nothing a pair of ear plugs can't resolve. Breakfast sunroom lovely, small but perfectly proportioned swimming pool and simply stunning library/reading room overlooking the pool and Koi pond. Whilst using the common areas, the staff are very quick to bring out complimentary fresh water and/or coffee if desired. At the top end for room rates, but would highly recommend a stay, you won't be disappointed.

Nothing really, but make sure you bring your mosquito repellant!

Definitely stay here! Beautifully furnished and super comfortable. The highlight is definitely the Breakfast. Don’t miss it. The best food we had in Phuket, and we eat a lot of Thai food.

Great location for centre of Old Town Phuket. Breakfast great but a little disjointed, hot food came out in stages, tomatoes, then few minutes late bacon etc. Staff are amazing and beautiful hotel, will go again definitely. Cannot recommend this Hotel enough.
