Fairfield Inn & Suites Rocky Mount

I stayed at this hotel because I was visiting family. I am a Titanium Elite member and this hotel appeared to be the most modern and updated in Rocky Mount. The staff was wonderful. Personable, polite and accommodating. The first room I was offered had a horrendous smell similar to mold. I requested another room. I was told by the front desk employee that the carpets in the hotel were recently cleaned. There was no odor in the hallway. The second room I was given had a slight odor but because I was late for a family event I accepted it and left for the evening. When I returned it was late and although the smell remained we stayed for the night. My partner had an asthma attack in the middle of the night. We left in the morning and changed to another hotel. Although I was impressed with the staff, no hotel should clean their carpet and then immediately offer the room. I’m not sure what the smell was but it was almost like turpentine. Deadly for asthmatics and my partner is still dealing with a sore, itchy throat days later.

I did not get to stay and was still charged the cost of the room as they do not let you know that it's a $300 deposit if you live within a 60 mile radius of the facility.

Breakfast had no vegan options it gluten/allergy free alternatives.

The staff here is absolutely amazing. I have stayed here now 3 times and each time was treated great. Not much to eat in the immediate area but drive 5-10 minutes you can find some spots.
