Wonderful location in a calm bay in Trinco

Even though you arrive in a very narrow street and probably think “where are we going?”, this was an incredible place to stay. You feel like living on your own private beach. The host was very friendly and wanted to make your stay as nice as possible. The breakfast was local and really good. They also offer a lot of things to do like dolphin watching, snorkeling… this was really an idyllic place and one of our favorite stays in Sri Lanka! Don’t let the location outside the city centre matter too much, a tuk tuk only costs 1000 rupees, like $3.

Great location for snorkelling and swimming, great, really warm and helpful staff, delicious local food for decent price and flexible to order. Air-conditioning, a modern bathroom, we took a boat organised by our host at the place for snorkelling, which was worth it! When we were there it was not crowded at all at the beach, only the sound of waves, fishermen and loud birds.

Though we really liked it, you have to be aware that the surrounding area is not a tourist area. No issue for us, we walked or took a tuktuk. there is a restricted area, hence we could not use the entire beach but as the beach is still big enough, that is no issue. We did a dolphin tour, saw a lot of dolphins and it is beautiful in the morning. But in the end one has to be aware that the boats are quite fast and loud coming really close to the dolphins - we care about protecting animals and had mixed feelings that day. :)

A clean room right in front of the beach. All day access to the small beach makes it feel like having a private beach. The beach is so tidy and with blue waters. The property is perfect for beach babies. The staff is very kind and helpful. They can arrange dolphin watching and snorkeling at affordable rates. Food is also available on request, hence, need not go far looking for a restaurant.

Everything was good

I think this might be the best location in Trincomalee. The rooms are just in front of Sandy Bay Beach, a small beach perfect to swim and relax. You will see friendly fishermen collecting their nets, this was one of the top memories we have from Sri Lanka. The fort is 45 minute walking, but a short ride with tuk tuk. The family running the homestay is kind and helpful, and they prepare a very good sri lankan breakfast. We totally reccommend staying here.

Served a local breakfast as I requested on a vegetarian basis. This was followed by a generous fruit platter and tea . Well presented by the staff.

We had an amazing stay here. We stayed for three days and felt like we were in heaven. The host is so so kind. She and her mom prepared the food, which was delicious, and they helped us in any way possible. We went dolphin watching which was also great. Direct access to the beach, clear blue water, views for days. Overall an amazing stay.

It’s a little hard to find and not super easy to access if you’re driving your own tuktuk. However the fact that it’s a little hidden away also means you enjoy a lot of privacy.
