Hotel Sunshine Caribe

My visit over 7 days at Hotel Sunshine Caribe was a pleasure. The Hotel is only a few minutes by foot from the town centre and it is a beautiful building with clean and comfy rooms. The hostess and her team are very thoughtful, welcoming and friendly. Absolutely recommended and I would love to visit again.

- great AC, hot shower and comfortable beds - friendly staff helped adjust the TV - secure gated parking - quiet away from main drag, but walkable with restaurants and market nearby

- furnishings dated, and a few gaps in the windows could let mosquitos in

This hotel has everything you need for a stay in Puerto Viejo, rooms are large with a terrasse, a small kitchen and coffee machine, bathroom is good with hot water and good pressure, and the staff is SO SO nice and will help you with any queries. Would definitely come back again !

Everything was good, it is located just a little bit outside of Puerto Viejo but just a 7 minute walk from the center, totally OK !

Great Hospitality - honest from normal folks, not forced for business. Stayed for the second time, this time on my return. I got complementary food and drink without even aksing, owner just wanted to share. Hotel is just a short stroll away from the beach which was my favorite part as I love to swim in the sea, yet it's in a quiet street where you can't hear the noise from the main road.

Book the upstairs room, it's worth the extra 10 or 20 dollars whatever it is. It was booked out during this stay as I reserved last minute on the day. I got the last room, which I would say was a back up one, it's still worth it for the price but I would pay an extra for the comfort, more light and space.

Great Location close to the centre and the beach. Parking, fast WiFi. Spotless clean, comfy beds, off in a quiet wee street. I got offered a free upgrade of a room as there was enough rooms available during my stay (off peak, mid week) which was a very nice detail.
