The Andiron Seaside Inn & Cabins

Super cute (and sizable) cabins, convenient location close to town, beautiful property, hot tub in the woods, cute goats to pet and fresh eggs from the chickens ! Kind owners who do happy hour outside as well. Would definitely go back

The more prepared you are for this place, the better. There's partial ocean views. Excellent private beach across Hwy 1. Comfy, homey, retro. Privacy. But: If you plan to cook in the kitchenette, bring everything, including cookware. What's provided is cheapo Teflon-style pots and plastic spatulas. Same with supplies. They provide coffee beans and grinder and fresh eggs (seasonal), but other than that, only salt, pepper, and some oil spray for coating a pan. The closest decent market is several miles away. Also be prepared to (rather severely) conserve water. Western Mendocino in general is very dry, the populace and visitors depend on wells unless you're next to a river. There are plenty of fluffy towels though.

This review is long overdue. I adore this place. Madeline, Scott, Kate, the goats, the chickens, the quirky themed rooms, the Happy Hours under the tent, the hot tub in the woods, everything about it. We've stayed in all 11 cabins and all are wonderfully unique, comfy, cozy, and warm. We rented the Inn out earlier this year to celebrate my and my spouse's 25th wedding anniversary and were able to share this gem with so many friends, who, no doubt, will begin their journey through all the rooms. Every time we go it's like going home. Plus, we've made friends with other guests that we see the same time every year! It is a magical place. Do yourself a favor and experience it yourself.

My wife and I just finished a four-night stay at Andiron. Let me say that we needed this relaxing experience as we both have very stressful and busy jobs. We arrived on a Friday night a little after 5 pm and Scott and Madeline were out under the tent hosting Happy Hour. (This is done on Friday and Saturday nights) Drinks, fire pits and great conversation with other guests and the hosts. We checked in to Cabin 9 (the largest I think) and it was a step back in time to the 1940's. Each cabin has a theme. This was a great place to stay when visiting the wineries off of Highway 128 and its a quick two miles to Mendocino and about 20 minutes to Ft Bragg. Several Beaches close by. Navarro Beach and Van Damme Beach are the closest. We also had our two Chiweenies with us. We highly recommend the Andiron.

Happy hour was great.

It was wonderful to be greeted by the owner and get a chance to socialize with them and other guests during a free happy hour by the fire. What a lively thoughtful design that went into creating this place!
