Raalmadu Wilpattu

You are completely surrounded by nature. You are amazingly taken care of. They picked us up, they arranged a safari for us, they offered a great vegan alternative (definitely recommend asking for it, as it is more local food). The pool is so relaxing and refreshing.

The guide on our safari didn't speak enough English to tell us about the animals. A taxi driver or tuk tuk will have trouble coming all the way to the location. Arrange to be picked up at the little ferry, that road is more easily accessible!

Great team - special thanks to Mr. Kuma and Mr. Kumara for making our stay unforgettable! We felt very comfortable and taken care of. Very kind and helpful Mr. Kuma told us about Wilpattu, took us on a trip to show us elephants, helped us organize really great safari in National Park and our trip back to Negombo. It was one of a kind experience :) In this place you can really relax, de-stress and be close to nature. I can highly recommend this place as a fantastic mix of great people and beautiful nature.

Everything was perfect

Loved our stay here! What an incredible place, everything was great, the rooms, the food, the animals. The hosts are lovely and make sure everything is arranged for you! Thank you so much!

Staff was super friendly, kind and helpful. They immediately welcomed us with a refreshing drink and wet towel to freshen up. The dinner was very good and the host took us to the river with a torch to spot crocs.

Unique and special hotel in the middle of Wilpattu national park. You sleep literally surrounded by the sounds of nature. Staff was helpful and really attentive to our needs. On a bottom line note, you must be sure that you want to live an adventurous and immersive natural experience.

The team at Raalmadu resort are by far the most accommodating and caring family of amazing people I have ever met. I've travelled the world far and wide for my job over the last 10 years and I've never met a group of people so lovely, so warm, so welcoming, so accomodating and kind. The owner even picked me up personally in his car and drove me 3 hours out to the resort when he found out there was an issue with the organised driver and checked in with me regularly during my stay to make sure all was okay. The resort itself sits on the very edge of the national park and you feel completely immersed in nature, so much so that you can even see elephants right at the resort itself! They come to drink at the pond at the end of the property and cross the river at times too. The food at the resort is also amazing!!! They prepare it fresh for you every meal and they cater to whatever you're feeling like and offer an amazing authentic Sri Lankan cuisine experience . The room is beautiful too and has everything you could need while enjoying the bliss of the jungle. I was even lucky enough to spot a leopard on my safari in Wilpattu. It's so rare to find an authentic gem like this is today's world, where everything is personal, thoughtful, and completely surrounded by nature. I'll be coming back again, not just once or twice, but many times!!! My kind heart felt thank you again Raalmadu, I left my stay feeling like family! See you all again soon!!!

The rooms were very nice.

We had the bad luck of rain so we couldn't do a safari. We still had to pay full price unlike other guests, who got adviced to cancel. Would have loved to be advised like other guests as well.

We stayed in the privat room wirh little pool Very good host in to the wild, very helpful stuff, organized every tour for us and she is a really good cook. Very child friendly, our 18 month old son loved to play hide and seek with them. Thank you for everything

An absolutely breathtaking hideout in the jungles of Wilpattu, supposed to Sri Lanka's largest wid life park. Delicious meals & very friendly atmosphere with staff lead by energetic Kumari a lady. We were greeted by the site of Elephants on the drive way to the resort. The entrance to the park is very nearby & the tracker Aslam made every endeavor t get proper sightings of animals which included two leopards. A must visit holiday resort to all tourists visiting Sri Lanka. Thank you Kumari & Rohitha.

An adventure filled stay in a remote village almost inside the Wilpattu park. We were told that it is within an elephant corridor. However we were unlucky not to see any though there was clear evidence of elephants roaming around. The food was delicious & linen & pools super clean. The tap water had a slight pungent odour on arrival but once we informed the caretaker Kumari, she lost no time in rectifying it by running the water purification plant for a few minutes. Everything else was enjoyable, not to mention the barbecue prepared in our presence in a clay built firewood kern. I’m pretty much sure most guests cherish a stay here especially the adventurous atmosphere to virtually be within Wilpattu.
