Twin Peaks Hotel

The location was convenient, just an 8-minute walk to the Castro area, full of LGBTQ+ bars and clubs, and close to public transportation in any direction. The room was fine for sleeping and felt comfortable to me (only for what is needed, rest and sleep). There were shared bathrooms and two showers on the floor, which were usually available, and overall, the place felt quiet, even with the window open.

That said, there were several issues during my stay. The room had a damp smell, the remote control barely worked due to battery problems, the window blind was broken, and the main ceiling light didn’t turn on (I had to rely on the sink light, which luckily did work). The Wi-Fi only functioned if you disabled your privacy settings, which felt invasive. On top of that, the front desk staff came across as unfriendly and since they represent the face of the property, it left a poor impression. If someone doesn’t enjoy working in customer service, maybe they shouldn’t be doing it.

The hotel is located in the Castro district on Market street. Lots of trendy restaurants.

The hotel does not have AC which is not needed since It’s s no very hot, however the windows are able to be raised and that kept the room reality cool at night. The hotel could install ceiling fans or have an electric fan in the room for air circulation would be nice during the day. I was there last week in September.

The lady at the front desk is super nice and helpful!

We thought the bathroom was in-suite, but it’s actually in the hallway, dorm room style. There’s also no fridge or microwave. I guess we should have paid attention when viewing the listing. But overall I think it’s good value given the price and such a great location.
