Lovely place full of old-school charm. Excellent staff, always very helpful, and a great location.

I loved how old-school it was. The room was clean and comfortable - I recently stayed at one of the other large, famous Nob Hill hotels and the University Club room was very similar. The restaurant was a good experience too; the wait staff was excellent. In and out was tremendously easy. Overall, this was a good experience and excellent value.

The building’s fine points (e.g., carpeting) are a little tired and could be refreshed, but I wouldn’t want to change the character of this beautifully traditional building.

Historic property with a superb location for our weekend in SF. Our room was a suite which was very comfortable and even had a view of the Transamerica Pyramid.

No refrigerator in the room, no ice machine. But these were minor inconveniences and not to be expected in the historic building.

The linens and bed were so comfortable!

Beautiful old building with rich history. Well preserved and kept up over the years. Rooms were comfortable, clean, and although they have clearly been updated over the years, it still keeps its classic old style charm with the decorations etc. There’s a trolley stop right outside the entrance of the property and tons of food/drink options just a couple blocks away for walking. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. The ONLY complaint I had about our room specifically (not sure if it applied to other rooms) was our shower water never really got “hot”. It took a while to get somewhat warm and would randomly shoot out a burst of cold water for 5 seconds or so then go back to lukewarm temperatures. Not the end of the world to frequent travelers like my wife and I, but figured it would be worth noting if the staff reads these reviews.
