Hotel Villa Paraiso

It’s in a good location, right by the lake, although not within walking distance to any decent bars or restaurants. You really need a car or scooter on Ometepe. You can walk to the natural springs (about 35mins), which are lovely. The staff were great. The view from the room was gorgeous

As many other reviews have mentioned, the property is fairly run down. The wi-fi is sketchy. You pay extra for breakfast. The food is ok, particularly if you stick to the simpler things on the large menu. I paid to upgrade my room but it was very basic. No coat hangers in the wardrobe, a very noisy fridge, Terrible lighting and a very dated bathroom. No thermostatic shower - Be sure to turn the hot water tap off before the cold tap - the hot water will burn you. This property is great but they really need to spend some money on it, to bring it up to standard.

El colchón de la cama fué horrible. Las dos personas caíamos hacia el centro. La habitación mal cerrada con lo que provocaba corriente de aire. A la llegada nos dijeron que el desayuno estaba incluído y después nos lo cobraron.

We had a wonderful time during our four-day stay at the property in late September/early October. The view was amazing, and the great location with direct lake access truly made our trip special.

While the hotel property itself was great, we had a negative experience at the on-site restaurant. On our first visit, the staff attempted to hurriedly charge us for two extra, unordered dishes. We only caught the "mistake" after reviewing and photographing the receipt. Their explanation, which blames the error on "the Internet", felt insincere and left us with a feeling of distrust. Consequently, we avoided eating at the hotel for the remainder of our stay.

Le prix laissait supposer une qualité supérieure. C’est un peu vieillot. Le petit-déjeuner est en supplément et cher.

We loved our stay at Villa Paraíso. The pool was nice and the location right on the beach was second to none. Our room was large and we enjoyed having AC and a fridge.

There were excrements left by some animal on the hammock when we arrived. Other than that there were a lot of tiny flies, but that's not on the hotel, just be ready for them when you go to Ometepe. They don't bite so it's not too bad!
