Incredible sense of history, very interesting town, great red bus tour, great breakfasts.

Hotel decor a bit tired, no offer to assist taking suitcases upstairs to the room.

Amazing atmosphere and charm, Friendly and efficient staff and comfortable rooms

Restaurant service is patchy and the food is ok

It's just very special,almost like time traveling. Everyone was friendly, everything was in walking distance. W totally enjoyed it.

The shower in my husband's room war merely dripping.

A place with lots of history. Felt if we’ve stepped back in time. Beautiful old furniture. Rooms are comfortable. Very good dinner and breakfast and the staff were very friendly and helpful

Difficult for older people to shower. You have to get into a bath to shower. We had no hot water.

Reception was efficient and staff were pleasant. It would have been a special touch if someone had been ready with an umbrella as it was raining when we arrived. All the staff coped well under the stress of no electricity. The dinner and breakfast were both of good quality and quantity.The room was clean and well appointed.

Perhaps a porter to assist carrying bags up and down stairs. We shouldn't have to ask for one. Although the hotel has character, I noticed that it is starting show a little bit of wear and tear. The bathroom door in our room (12) could not be shut. Pity the bar closes at the same time as the dining room but I suppose staff logistics is an issue.
