Room was great. Staff were good

The staff are friendly. The buss tour was the highlight of the trip.

The pictures are misleading. Showing one room with a modern bathroom, but getting the standard Hotel bathroom was just dissapointing. The bathroom needs maintenance. Horrible plumbing when showering. Please clean the hair out of the sink and the bath tub.

Love Matjiesfontein - 2nd visit to this hotel. Love the quirkiness of the 'bus tour! Real step back in history. I was lucky to have a beautiful huge front room on the balcony with a view to towards the railway. Funnily enough it was the same room I stayed in in 2014! Fabulous breakfast. Lovely staff.

Hot water supply wasn’t great

Dinner and breakfast were lovely. The room was clean, with good-quality bedding and a comfortable mattrass.

I didn't really dislike anything - it was a pleasant stay. I just feel the hotel might be ready for a bit of a refresh.

Abendessen und Frühstück waren sehr gut. Beef filet ausgezeichnet und super zart. Continental und/ oder English breakfast mit Allem was dazugehört.

Das Hotel is nicht gepflegt und braucht dringend „ Maintenance“. Lampen funktionierten teilweise nicht, Fenster liessen sich nicht ganz schließen, Farbe bröckelt ab. Das Hotel hat „ lovely bones, but needs some tender loving care.“

The experience of Matjiesfontein, the beautiful Lord Milner in all its glory was exceptional. The hotel and garden is still in mint condition. You have to be there to see it.....

A step back in time....nostalgic. Quite, quaint, museums with interesting items, next to the main railway line between Cape Town and Johannesburg where the Blue Train sometimes passes by and exactly what you would expect from a place that's been around since late 1800's.

Rooms amenities are a bit skimpy, no TV or bar fridge but then you are not there for TV anyway. Bath drained very slowly.
