Hotel Miramare

The overall impression of the hotel ended up being very disappointing. The start was very unpleasant. There are traffic limited zones around the hotel and hotel provided some recommendation on parking. We parked being 90% sure that we parked right outside the TLZ. We came to the hotel, which was 30 meters away and asked the man at the front desk (I think his name Luka) to take a quick look to make sure that we parted correctly and will not get a ticket. He just needed to step out and walk 15 meters to the corner of the building and take a look. He said that he is not going to do it and was showing something on the city map with us not being able to understand most he was saying. We went back and forth for almost 10 minutes getting both agitated. Finally, when I told him that I am very unhappy , he went to the corner, which took him 20 seconds, and confirmed that parking is fine. My wife and I were mad. We are in Sicily for a month staying in a number of hotels and B&Bs with amazing helpful staff and all our scores being 9-10.And after running into this rude unhelpful person at the front desk, we were rather unhappy about this hotel. It is fine, location-and facilities -wise

Starting to look a bit warn and the breakfast was not great

It was central and the reception staff were very helpful and the breakfast staff were too. Nice selection on offer

The bed was uncomfortable, the rear courtyard was an eyesore. No tea/coffee making facility available in the room and there was a cockroach squished on the first floor corridor!
