We stayed in Room 2 - a comfortable room. We had a good breakfast - typical 'Continental' and 'English' breakfasts were offered. Location is excellent, very attractive grounds. By accident, we switched on under floor heating in the bathroom, which is a good feature.

Many things - this hotel is lacking care and attention to details. Shower water never got hot, only warm. Bathroom washbasin water ran for literally 5 minutes and never got hot. Bathroom floor was tiled with glossy, slippery when wet, tiles - no anti slip mat provided. Light switches had dirty surrounding panels. No instructions provided on how to use the wall mounted heating switches. A bedroom windowpane was broken. One of the windows could not properly close because the frame was distorted. Window catches were all dilapidated. This is a cold place in winter but no electric blankets were provided. The provided tiny electric fan heater ran full bore for at least two hours before the room started to feel warm. And be prepared for creaking floors, everywhere - this is a 70 year old building.
