Empire Hotel

Staff are very friendly and welcoming. 24 hour reception makes you feel very safe. There is a safe to protect your belongings. Breakfast is 4 slices of toast and either tea or coffee, you should go to the reception between 8am and 10am to order, and they will bring to your room within around 10 minutes.

The noise from 9:30am until around 8pm was extremely loud as the hotel is undergoing maintenance (Feb 2025). I heard circular saws and drilling right outside the door, and scraping on the windows right above my head. However, outside of these times the hotel is lovely and quiet.

Super friendly staff. The room was adequately clean and in a great location. Check in was easy. I arrived earlier and they let me keep my bag behind the desk until my room was ready. If you are looking for an affordable and nice hotel in this part of Mumbai I can recommend the Empire hotel. I will stay here again without hesitation.

The breakfast was literally just plain toast and tea (the tea was nice though 😊). So don't expect much from the breakfast however this is minor as there are lots of nice places to eat outside the hotel.

Rooms are clean, staff with good behavior

No specific complaint but also cannot think of anything great.

Very outdated, location not too far from Mumbai highlights but at the same time nothing around there. You cannot go anywhere walking distance. No elevator, only stairs.

Hotel is within easy walking distance of 3 different train stations, it was clean, the water was warm, the staff were friendly, it was good value. It’s in a busy area so there’s some noise but that’s to be expected.

Depending on what time of day you arrive it could be tricky to find, if you stand on the same side of the road as the police station you’ll see the hotel sign above a row of shops 👍

Check in and out was quick. Carried bags to room. Coffee and toast in morning.

Building work immediately outside the door (corridor of hotel) was very disruptive. Room was not city view as advertised, looked out onto junk filled alley - more work was going on here, right outside window, so we felt uncomfortable taking showers/opening curtains

The room provide AC and ceiling fan - both of which worked ok, and hot water in the bathroom and the fridge & TV worked

The hotel is very basic for the price, in fact I would not call it a hotel - as there are no other facilities other than rooms. Breakfast was 4 slices of toast, buttered for you! with accompanying jam if requested and tea or coffee (i ordered 1 black, 1 white coffee and mixed them to get decent strength coffee).

central location

The room is completely obsolete, the bathroom in bad condition, bare and patched electrical wires, moldy joints, the paint is blistered in some part of the room, very noisy, wifi poor
