Jaguarundi Jungle Lodge - Monteverde

Good location, you can walk into Monteverde town centre

The noise and it was super cold at night. There is no heating so had to ask for extra blankets.

Hotel very well located, in the middle of the jungle, we could see coatis, agoutis and monkeys. Very good breakfast and lunch at Ficus hôtel (jjaguarundi doesnt have a restaurant so the breakfast is at Ficus hotel. Alicia Who welcomed us, was very friendly and helpful.

We loved the location, the grounds, the rooms and the sister-hotel where breakfast was served. We had an excellent dinner there as well, with a tremendous view and a spectacular lightning show over a birthday dinner. It was a truly lovely experience and great (bilingual) staff--both at the hotel and the restaurant. Everything was very clean and comfortable, and the bathroom/shower was large with plenty of hot water! It is conveniently located to access Santa Elena town and restaurants. Just a short drive to Monteverde, various wildlife reserves, etc.

Parking was a bit challenging. A box breakfast we ordered, because we had to miss breakfast one morning, was not great--I wouldn't recommend that! Everything else was superb.

There wasn’t enough hot water for both of us, water came in lukewarm after one shower.

We stayed there for five nights. We were double booked by mistake and they charged us for two extra rooms and were not flexible.

Location can walk to town at night so no need to drive on precarious roads in the dark

Sold as a luxury lodge but turn out as a top end backpacker dormitory. In retrospect, u get what you pay for so if 2 nights are same price as1 , you can’t expect the same standards and I must have been mislead by the type of room I was booking , not a lodge at all…. Saying that room was clean but very basic n’y even a bedside light and had a very strong musty smell. Really noisy as u can hear everything on both sides of your room and u can also hear the traffic as soon as it starts. Breakfast was average but really friendly restaurant staff.
