Getting hot water is a pain

If you want the true experience, how many Goans lived back in the day this is a perfect example. The house is beautifully restored with a touch of modern vibe. I mean the nostalgia waking up here was as if I was at my grandmas place expect; now there is wifi, AC and hot running water that is not boiled on fire lol. The hospitality of the staff was incredible I don't recollect their names but you know who you are. Just a note, I loved waking up to the sound of the birds chirping but if you're like my wife (a light sleeper) that could be annoying.

The place is a bit secluded from the parties and such. You pay quite a bit in taxi fare at night to get back to the room.

A bit hidden. You require transport to get anywhere. Building works across the street.

The place. The outdoors. The tea and coffee powder instead of the dip bags. The boardgames, card games.

We were travelling with two senior citizens. Both fell down fro the chairs in the living room. We had already asked the reception to change the chairs / send two more chair because they seemed unstable. But it took too long for them to do the needful. By then the damage was done. One of the rooms has no bedside tables/ stools.

Beautiful place.

The property is surrounded by loud water pumps and water heaters. Which makes it impossible to appreciate the garden, particularly in the "private garden" sections that comes with some of the rooms. The first room I stayed in also overlooked some strong light. (We then moved to another room without window) The hotel is technically well positioned but you will have to drive anytime you leave the property. There is nothing around the hotel within walking distance, not even a small shop to buy water. The area is not nice, quite the contrary. The hotel only provides filtered water, and I respect the intention to reduce plastic pollution but I got sick (or maybe was it the food). We had to constantly go out of our way to get bottled water. The restaurant is alright, conveniently positioned next to yet another loud rumbling water heater. The service is very very slow. Expect at least 30 minutes for scrambled eggs and tea when you're the only client in the restaurant. Each meal also comes with a twist. We ordered two pasta and only received one, the waiter then explained that the pesto and the Bolognese were mixed together. What? Circle provides a few contacts for bike/car/drive rental. "Munna" wasn't helpful. The taxi service was more expensive than "Goa Miles". I had a bad experience with the driver service with some surprising fees at the end of the ride: 25 ruppees per extra km within the allocated time, which is more expensive than in Australia. Staff is unhelpful, there is all this "sir" fluff but at the end of the day it's really just a lot of people standing around and none of the obvious (easily fixable) issues of this property being addressed. That was disappointing, particularly granted the ratings and the price point.

Great concept, sustainability at its core. And do expect wild life in your room for the same reason!

The so-called 'restaurant' can be utilised better and marketed for non-residents too , since the limited rooms won't fill it - and outside diners will bring in the required energy to the place - the property is so charming and can easily beat many restaurants'ambience in Goa
