Clean, comfortable, and very special atmosphere with all the birds of prey around. Super location to go hiking, directly reachable by regular city bus. Helpful staff (checking out at times where the reception is not open, leaving luggage until the evening). Food in the restaurant tasty and very quick, despite the low season!

Next door the the Big Almaty Lake park. Falcons, lots of falcons. Restaurant is convenient for dinner and breakfast. Good Wifi. Helpful staffs. Good parking spots. Room is big enough.

Breakfast open at 9am, a bit late.

The hotel is located at the entrance of the national park Ile-Alatau, that was perfect for us. The room was okay, the sheets were clean and we even got a kettle when we asked for it.

Our room was next to the falcon cages and it smelled quite strongly when we arrived. Breakfast is served in the restaurant, but it’s pricey. As there are no other options in the neighborhood we had breakfast there which was okay. The employees were not very polite, they only did their job.

Good hotel, nothing special although the room is roomy and the beds are comfortable. Also the birds like owls and falcons were nice to watch!

The shower was a bit meh, had a lot of functions you couldnt use, i prefer a simpeler shower that is roomier and has a better showerhead.

The location was OK in that it's close to the mountains. Showers are hot and powerful and it's clean.

No air-conditioning. No fridge or kettle in the room. No bottles of drinking water. Breakfast doesn't start until 9am. The food is terrible and expensive. The staff are unpleasant and not very helpful. The location is quite but you can here the noise from other people staying there. There's no other places nearby to eat. Wifi is terrible. There's no view from the room.. they hang their laundry right across the front of the window.. there's no view anyway and no privacy. Overall value for money was very poor.

The setting and the grounds were spectacular. The Falcon Show is unique and amazing. Paul is a rare person who understands what will make remember the trip. We loved our stay here and highly recommend it. People don't realize that this is a bird sanctuary and it is rare opportunity to stay in a place like this and understand birds... like Falcons, vultures, owls and golden eagles. The bus service is excellent. Bus No. 28 takes you from right outside the hostel to the centre of town.

It's fine for a calm stay close to nature..
