DOT BEY beach cabana

Relax in a comfortable house with a good bed and a new spacious bathroom. Nice courtyard garden with outdoor shower. Access to the beach and ocean right from the gate. You live like a local among fishermen who can sell the freshest fish they catch. The owner set up a barbecue for us in the yard, and his assistant helped light the fire using coconut shells. The grilled tuna and prawns were so good! He equipped the kitchen for us with a gas stove. We had to pay for the gas ourselves, but not much.We prepared breakfasts, lunches, and dinners mainly in the kitchen. A large refrigerator was also here. The owner helped us with everything we might need (tuk-tuk,rent a bike...) and even booked bus tickets to Kandy. Thank him very much. I miss cats that we fed with leftovers. Especially the small, lonely kitten, who always greeted us with a loud meow. He was very affectionate and playful. Some shops and cafes also near. The nearest is our owner's. For the other things you need take a tuk-tuk and go to the city Trinkomali.

We like everything, except the plastic garbage, scattered along the shore, probably washed up from the ocean. I would like to draw the attention of the island authorities so that they take the problem more seriously.

Good location in trinco.. Very close to Naga temple. Great staff. Excellent food.. Best breckie on this trip. Lovely banana pancakes. Good English spoken.. Relaxing spot..

Don't book based on the photos. It's far away from the beach, and they don't have beachside view rooms.

I upgraded my room to have a beachside view, but when I went there, they didn't have any available rooms. The room they eventually provided was very small.

Simple but very quiet and clean cabana close to the beach and about 15min walk or short tuk tuk ride to mutliple restaurants. Alternatively it is also possible to eat at the accomodation. Very friendly staff and contrary to my time in Colombo nobody tried to push me into spending money. The cabanas come with an adapter which is extremely helpful.

A bad odour all over the room.
