Sky Palace Beach Hotel

Rooms are basic but clean, with a comfy bed, good aircon and good wifi (better than earlier reviews suggest). The balcony is a pleasant place to sit. Wilfred & colleagues are very helpful when you’re on site. And it’s very near the beach.

Lots of little things could & should be put right. Daily room cleaning would take no time (rooms get sandy, even with a shower outside). Soap & loo paper could be checked at the same time. One plastic sachet of shampoo for three days isn’t “free toiletries”! And a daily bottle of water would cost R20. A kettle; more than 3 hangers; some directions on how to find it on arrival - none of this is rocket science and it’s done elsewhere.

The location and the staffs were the best! Although the furniture and facilities in the room were not brand new or shiny clean (still above the average of the area I guess), the owner Wilfred was so helpful during my 2-week stay! He is always available on WhatsApp, knows everything about the area. Even though I didn't have breakfast at this hotel, I saw he's cooking for his guests and it seemed to be delicious! Also, the location was super - even though it's not facing the beach (actually it's way better as you can avoid noisy/touristy part of the town but enjoy the beach by walking only for 2 minutes), there are two great vegetarian restaurants (Suprabatham and Banana Leaf, there are one of the bests in the area), a small local supermarket, and a mobile shop that you can buy a SIM card and exchange money.

Everything was great. Location is superb, it can hardly be better. Wilfred is great and very friendly and extremely helpful. He helped us book taxi to Munroe Island and that was excellent as well. Very clean room and defenitly good price. Travelling is me and my two teenaged kids.

Clean hotel, safe place, very nice managers, 2 minutes walk to Kovalam beach, very close to the lighthouse. Amazing and cheap breakfast.
