Nakatsugawa Onsen Hotel Hanasarasa

Good sized comfortable rooms. Nice onsen facilities (indoor and outdoor) and the aquatic centre next door is great for kids. The dinner and breakfast were great and high end.

The facility itself is a bit tired and dated. Our room was very hot (in winter) and we could not rune the heating down any further (had to open the window. Price was more than I expected to pay for something of this standard - maybe becuase of the dinner.

It was very peaceful and a short taxi to Magome to catch the bus for our hike

Spot area for the hot springs was nice. I don’t think it’s good to say to bring the large and small towel because when you do that, that means you have nothing left in the room unless you request some more towels fortunately, we had left one large towel in the room which we used for our shower the next day. We know it’s an older hotel and it was a bit rundown in areas, but we still appreciated. The Japanese authenticity and the staff were extremely wonderful.

The location was out of the way from the Nakasendo Kaido but everything about the hotel was great. The onsen was very nice-the water or whatever was put in the water was great for the skin. The dinner and breakfasts were amazing.

We had a very nice experience. The hotel is very family oriented and quite. Breakfast and dinner were included; multi-course meals; very tasty; very attentive staff. Onsen was clean and never crowded. It's a bit out of the way but nice to get away from all the crowds.
