Cheap clean spacious room, very friendly owner who gave me a lunch to take with me when i checked out. Interesting property good for adventurous travellers.

Random location, no fridge in room and internet quite poor. Far from public transport so more suited to people travelling with a car.

I got the Triple Room, so it had its own private toilet, no wash sink or shower, just the toilet itself.

I never met Mama san like other reviewers, so my review strictly on the facilities. First the price was cheapest of the options around that area, but it really was not worth it for me after the fact. Due to JR problem, I arrived at the Nyugawa Station after 11PM. The whole city was deserted and it was about 15 mins+ walking on the main road, although it had very little lighting, so it was very dark. I never saw another person the whole time. Using google map, the last part had to go through an open field in complete darkness. There was a sign in Japanese saying "Front", so I went in (westerners may not be able to read the sign). There was no one but had my check-in form and my key on the counter. The Triple Room was very old and worn out, dirty spots all over, reminding me more of a homeless motel in the US. One bed was clean though. The biggest issue was the shower and toilets. They are both outside which you need to walk out of your room in OPEN space. It maybe ok during summer, but it was very cold at night and in the morning when I stayed in Nov (think of it as a summer camp that you need to go to outside toilet and showers). The sinks for brushing your teeth are also open without cover, and the sinks were dirty with dust, probably not cleaned for awhile. I did not use the toilets but they are more like the US porta-potty which one for men and one for women for the whole place. There was also 1 shower for the whole place, so if busy, you need to wait. For shower, there is a switch to turn on the water heater on the outside, so make sure you turn it on before going in or no hot water no matter how long you run the water. I left 7:30AM the next day and there was no one at the front office, so I just left my money on table. Cheap, but really not worth it, especially during cold weather. This is really more a summer camp experience!

From the outside it's not looking new. But it is clean and comfy. The staff are amazing! The women made for me a take away lunch for my roadtrip on my motorbike. Great time

It was very convenient for doing the henro.

It looked a bit scary, but I promise it’s just old.

The lady caretaker was wonderful, went out of her way to make the stay as pleasant as possible. If it wasn't for her, the rating would be a 6.

It is out if the way and I only saw 1 shower room and it is a walk across the yard. Luckily I only saw 1 other guest otherwise it would heve been difficult.

The owner was fantastic. So helpful and really made us feel welcome.
