OMIA

Our stay at Omia was simply exceptional. The grounds are out of this world with a lovely pool right on the most secluded beach you could wish for. The rooms are fabulous as part of 8 private villas with a restaurant and shared pool. Beds were large and comfortable and the balcony overlooking the sea was sensational. We also had a massage in our room which was wonderfully relaxing with the sound of the ocean throughout. The food was delicious with a good selection of fresh fish and seafood as well as more traditional Sri Lankan options too. The staff are so kind and attentive and helped us arrange Tuk tuks to wherever we needed to go. Barbara the owner is also extremely welcoming and went above and beyond for our stay. It was my boyfriend’s 30th and she arranged petal decorations on the bed and a special table and cake for dinner. Would recommend Omia to anyone - truly a slice of paradise! We hope to come back soon and only wish we booked for longer!

This is honestly one of the best place we have every stayed at. Everything, from the accommodation, location, staff, food…..were excellent. We will definitely come back soon and won’t hesitate to recommend to family and friends.

We loved Omia! Amazing fresh food, delicious cocktails and comfortable surroundings. We loved how laidback the hotel was, while nothing was every any trouble for the lovely staff. The beach was beautiful and peaceful. Everything was very clean and tidy. The owner Amit took my partner out fishing one morning after chatting about their shared hobby, and organised a lovely boat trip on the lagoon for us. Omia is a true sanctuary, the photos don't do it justice :)

The only thing I could mention is the price point of the food and drinks - it was slightly more expensive than what we paid elsewhere in Sri Lanka and the remote location meant there weren't really any other options. That being said, the food was delicious so we didn't grudge spending!

Wonderful oasis with stunning views of the Indian ocean. The design of the bungalows enabled us to have a fantastic overview of the pool and to wake up every morning to the beautiful ocean. Access to the white sandy beach was really easy from the site. It felt very exclusive and special.The owner, Barbara, was very welcoming and has deliberately recruited staff who shared her vision to make the visit truly unforgettable. Breakfast was excellent every day and choice from the' specials' menu for the evening was outstanding. We felt that this was the best food that we ate during our stay in Sri Lanka.

There wasn't anything we could fault and were very sad when our stay come to an end.

Location was great but if you want night life this place is not for you. It is incredibly peaceful and relaxing. Staff and owner brilliant the food was fresh and well cooked. The pool was lovely and the view of the ocean idyllic. We had a lot of help from locating the railway station to organising a dusk lagoon tour which by the way was excellent, lots of bird life and of course monkeys.
