The staff were very helpful and friendly, the pool was excellent and the breakfasts were the best we have had in Sri Lanka The hotel was in a great location to the city centre and Sigirya rock

We had a great 2 night stay at the Bangalawa resort. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They helped arrange a safari for us and a Tuktuk driver to take us to Dambula and Sigiriya for a good price. Really enjoyed our stay. The gardens are beautiful and peaceful. It’s a bit of the main road so all you can here is the wildlife. The room is basic but comfortable and provides everything we needed. It felt like it was clean. The food is amazing. The breakfast was amazing both days and they even provided it later than normal when we went out for the safari early. Dinner from Curry and Rice was excellent. A great introduction to Sri Lankan food culture.

The room is comfortable but it is a bit rough around the edges. For example the door handle on the bathroom was broken. Given the price and how amazing the staff and service was, I can accept this.

The resort is located in the nature, which means you have the possibility to experience and see different animals (especially birds). The pool and food was great. The owner organized a private bird watching tour at the Haparana lake, which was great and even for free. The owner even managed to organize 1st class tickets for a train ride from Kandy to Ella with short notice when everyone else failed to do so! The staff was extraordinary friendly and helpful! It is very rare to find a staff like this! We highly recommend this place and would be more than happy to return to this resort again.

Great service and help from the staff. It's a short walk from the road which gives it a secluded atmosphere with nature all around. We saw lots of bird life. Nice pool.

It would be helpful to have mosquito nets over the beds.

the sheets had some stains, which we did not mind, because we travel with our own sleeping bags.

We had such a relaxing stay at Bangalawa resort. The staff were beyond helpful and friendly, happy to arrange for anything that you needed. Also the breakfast deserves a mention, one of the best we had in Sri Lanka!
