Rainforest Nest

Absolutely everything ❤️ Sinharaja rainforest is a magical place to visit. Our host's Saman and Umesha were ever smiling 😃 and welcomed us with so much ❤️ and generosity into their beautiful bungalow. Staying here was the highlight of the trip for the 4 of us. It felt like we had a taste of the REAL SRI LANKA, a night and day spent with the most amazing family is something we will take home as a memory to treasure. Saman is a fantastic guide. He is so passionate about his job, his love for the forest creatures and flora is amazing. He was able to show us so much. We spent over 4 hrs on our walk with the most patient man who helped us capture the most amazing photos on our trek. We saw species that are endemic to Sinharaja forest. It was very special. Umesha is also the best cook. We had delicious meals prepared with so much love. Saman provided us with leech socks and salted our shoes on the outside for extra protection. Then when we returned our shoes were washed for us. Exceptional service 👏 Please if you are reading this, do yourself a favour and go. You won't be disappointed. We're sorry we didn't have more time to stay longer. It was so peaceful and grounding to be still with nature. This family is the best 👌

Elegimos este sitio por los comentarios tan buenos, pensabamos que exageraban...pero no. Saman y su mujer nos han tratado superbien, han estado a nuestra disposicion, horarios, comida...todo muy rico. Siempre sonriendo. Hicimos la ruta por la selva con Saman,l.entrada esta a 10 min caminando y fue genial, el entorno es precioso, vimos lisards, alguna serpiente, pajaros, arañas, monos..nos bañamos en la cascada...un entorno preciosos...y cuando llegamos nos esperaban con la comida preparada. La habitación me encantó...muy bonita y la terraza con vistas a los arrozales.. maravillosa. Tuvimos la suerte de ver el cortejo de los pavos reales, como gritan y como abren todo su plumaje. Si te gusta la naturaleza y la paz este es tu lugar, merece las horas de coche que hay que hacer. Nos quedamos dos noches, pero si hubieramos podido nos hubiéramos quedado mas dias...

Meilleurs hôtes de notre séjour au Sri Lanka! Nous avons été extrêmement bien accueillis dans leur coin de paradis. Tout était parfait, que ce soit le bungalow et sa vue, les repas généreux préparés avec amour, et notre excursion dans la forêt de Sinharaja avec Saman! En résumé, un séjour fabuleux avec des hôtes aux petits soins! We miss you both already, take care of yourselves!

Ein wunderschönes Plätzchen, um den nahen Regenwald zu erkunden! Saman und seine Frau sind sehr herzliche, liebenswerte Gastgeber, Saman darüber hinaus ein äußerst kompetenter Guide durch den Regenwald, der vieles sieht und vieles weiß! Ein großes Dankeschön für einen fantastischen Tag im Regenwald! Die Unterkunft selbst verfügt über gemütliche, saubere Zimmer. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt!

Cabanyets enmig d’un entorn idíl•lic. Habitació neta i amb tot el necessari. Balcó amb tombones amb unes vistes espectaculars. El Saman i la seva família han estat agradables i han cuidat tots els detalls. Els esmorzars i els àpats que ofereixen són bons i molt complerts (impossible acabar’t-ho tot). Vam realitzar una ruta de 6h per la selva amb el Saman i va ser tot un encert. La visita va ser amena i ens va explicar moltes coses sobre la fauna i la flora. El recomano sense cap dubte. Moltes gràcies per tot!!

This was a beautiful stay right next to Sinharaja Rainforest. Umesha and Saman are the sweetest and kindest hosts - they looked after me when I was unwell at their place, umesha gave me tea and it sorted me out. My favourite stay while I was in Sri Lanka - a literal home away from home! And Saman is an amazing guide in the forest :) hopefully one day I’ll be back!

Saman e sua moglie sono stati molto gentili e accoglienti. Lei ha preparato pasti buonissimi mentre con lui abbiamo fatto un'escursione all'interno della foresta pluviale in cui ci ha spiegato con cura ogni dettaglio su flora e fauna. Siamo state fortunate e abbiamo visto tanti animali. Alloggio ideale per chi cerca calma e un'immersione profonda nella natura. La vista dal balcone è semplicemente stupenda. Assolutamente consigliato!
