Ella South Star

The rooms were beautiful, clean and nicely decorated. The staff were very welcoming. The area is stunning.

My only slight complaint is that we werent given any water in the room or with breakfast, im sure if we had asked for it, we would have been given it, but usually it is served as standard.

Really nice experience to stay.tharuksha is very friendly, smart and helpful, speaks nice English. Can organize anything, give scooter for rent, drive tuk tuk and more. Greatand breakfast. Rooms is clean and well made. I recommend!

Nice place with a beautiful view from balcony. You can sit there with cup of coffee and enjoy it while looking as monkeys are jumping on the trees. Clean rooms and very helpful personnel, who helped us rent a scooter. Highly recommend this place!

Nice location and lovely staff. They helped us rent bikes and took us to waterfalls etc.

I dont know who is writing all these positive reviews, this place is disgusting, no one cleaned this place since it was built. They are not even able to change bedding, hair all over. We are travelling around Sri Lanka for 2 weeks and this is worst accommodation. Cant wait for owner reply

Tharuksha the host was so friendly and really went out of his way to help us hire a scooter and organise a taxi to our next destination. He gave us lots of useful tips about the area. Definitely recommend staying here!

Everything was great!

The owner offered to pick me up, and he and family went out of their way to help me feel welcome, safe and comfortable. I loved being among the treetops, hearing the beautiful birdsong in the mornings and evenings. I also met some other lovely Sri Lankan travellers and had some lovely conversations about Buddhism, politics and the world! Very very peaceful, safe and nice to be away a little from the main street, and up the hill. I went for a lovely walk in the evening. Food was great.

Our host Tharakshur was absolutely great! He made sure we had everything we needed for our stay and was even able to help us source train tickets that we told were sold out. The location is ideal as it’s set up in the mountains so it’s peaceful but it’s just a short tuk tuk away from the centre of Ella where there are plenty of nice restaurants and amenities. Definitely recommend Ella South Star!
