Hotel Paradiso,

Couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay! The morning of checkin, my partner put his back out and was as bed-bound for almost a week while it healed. We ended up extending our stay to almost two weeks to allow him time to get better and we’re so thankful we were checking into such a lovely hotel when this happened! Our room (studio with terrace) was massive, the pictures don’t do it justice at all, beautiful big windows/doors with a lovely view of the garden letting in loads of light (but with big proper curtains for privacy if you want it) A comfy sofa and arm chair, dining table, kitchen with huge fridge and ample cooking facilities, lovely bathroom. The mattress was probably the best we’ve ever slept on in a hotel, so comfy, great pillows too. The AC was amazing and room very well insulated, we could turn the AC off all day while we were out and we’d come back to a room still cool. Plus the room was super clean and considering we were on the ground floor we were surprise we didn’t have any ants or bugs at all in the room. Lovely big pool that’s cleaned & maintained several times a week by a pool professional, big comfy, padded sun loungers. Tasty and varied breakfast menu - because we were there so long we tried everything on the menu and it’s all delicious and served fresh to order. Proper good French press coffee! Everyone who works there is happy and helpful and full of smiles and you can tell it’s a family run place. FREE water refills were a life saver! Two very cute cats owned by the family were also a joy to play with. Some might fear the location is a little out of town but it’s a short 10 minute walk down the hill and you’re at the beach or in town, and there are a number of restaurants just around the corner from the hotel anyway as well as a small local shop selling snacks and drinks for a very reasonable price. Also, there are loads of options on Uber eats that deliver to the hotel if you want a chilled night in.

If there was any suggestion I could make, the only small thing missing for us would be the ability to be able to buy drinks and snacks from the hotel in the day time after breakfast but water is free and always available and there is a restaurant and shop just around the corner from the hotel.

The property is clean, well-located, and has huge rooms. There’s also a pool which can be used until 11 pm and that is something given how pool timings generally work! The owner, Ransi, is extremely sweet and would go out of her way to help! There are a bunch of cafes and souvenir shops in the street just outside Paradiso.

Very large clean room with a kitchenette ( fridge freezer, blender, kettle). Comfortable sofas in the room and comfortable chairs on the balcony. Excellent pool with lots of comfortable loungers. Good choice of breakfast with great Italian coffee. Ransi and Philip are superb hosts.

The rooms are huuuge, swiming pool lovely, owners are kind and lovely people, they will help you to book tuctuc or taxi or activities for the best price. You got 4 choices for breakfast and people working here friendly and quiet. It's impossible to find better for this price.

Very spacious room, nice bathroom with extra towels for the swimming pool, mini kitchen with fridge, balcony with great view. Breakfast was excellent, the owner and the staff very friendly and helpful. Great location, very quiet but only 10 mins away from the beach and the city centre. I would definitely recommend this property.

Lovely accommodation and lovely owners. The room was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Peaceful but close enough to places. The pool area was large and relaxing. All in all, a very good accommodation.

Great location between Unawatuna Beach and Jungle Beach. A large comfortable apartment with furnished balcony, with views over the sea, and pool.

We booked a 2-bedroom apartment: -apartment windows are facing to palm trees -good sized rooms -good shower pressure and hot water -nice breakfast -very lovely and helpful owners and staff -Owners of the hotel are approachable, they were always around and helped eg: to fix the AC in our room or when my husband was not feeling well -check out is at 11:00 am but we could stay a bit longer in the apartment -free water available 24/7 in the diner -big beds -we got provided loads of towels -extended roof: actually, it’s a pretty useful solution as we had heavy rains even during the dry season and our balcony remained dry thanks to the super wide roof -every chair has cousin so much more comfortable than sitting on a wooden surface -master bedroom has nice furniture and carpets, makes the room cosy

We booked this hotel cos of the time of the booking it has a 9.5 rate. We were excited to spend the last couple of days of our holiday in a nice, clean hotel but actually it was not clean at all. :( -pool was dirty: hair, plastic rubbish was floating on the surface, bottom was dirty too and the edge of the pool around literally was black from dirt -pool and hotel staircases were dirty -our kitchen did stink and we got old, used sponge to wash the dishes -fridge was dirty -kitchen equipment was dusty and dirty -during our 4 day long stay building work was in the garden all day long, just under our balcony, started between 7-8am, including explosions -things are just messy, eg: at the entrance of the dining room an old washing machine and a small fridge are being stored -all of the chair cushions are dirty and stained
