Libertalia Hotel

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Lovely bungalow next to the sea. Swimming in the pool or in the sea from the pontoon. Great food in the restaurant and they made a huge effort to provide vegetarian food. Breakfasts were excellent and the evening menu changed everyday. Staff really helpful planning excursions, to Ile aux Nattes and Mangrove forest on East coast. It's a beautiful setting, with a lovely restaurant/ seating area. Ile aux Nattes and Ambodifotatra easily accessible. Really great place to stay..

There are fans in the bungalows but not air con- but that is what we expected. You can't swim directly from the beach because of the urchins but again we knew that.

Breakfast was great. International breakfast, containing eggs, natural juice, baguettes, butter, jam and other international food. It was great.

This is not related to the hotel, but we didn't know that we could not swim on the beach next to the hotel, and had to swim from the pontoon.

Staff were all lovely, especially Aurelie, very helpful. Location was great, outside town but close enough to walk and things around. Hotel beautifully decorated and food was tasty.

Would be nice if WiFi stretched to bungalows.

We loved staying here and would definitely stay again! The staff were all super helpful and friendly, the restaurant had great food and drinks, and we could see and hear the ocean from our bungalow. Very relaxing atmosphere.

The staff were on the whole welcoming and efficient.

The property has virtually no internet connection so if this is important to you don’t stay there. The accommodation is very overpriced and lacks value. The manger found it very difficult to accept any customer feedback. I won’t return.

Libertalia is a great value. The location was spectacular, and we had a clean, comfortable bungalow right on the beach with gorgeous sunset views. The hotel grounds are like a well-kept garden, and even though it was the first week of October we saw whales swimming just a few hundred feet from the hotel on several occasions. The staff and friendly, courteous, and professional. The food was excellent, with a slightly different menu each day so you don't get bored. Our kids loved the infinity pool. Libertalia also has a cool bridge leading to a tiny private island you can explore, which is part of the hotel grounds.

The only problem is that there are sea urchins just offshore, so you have to watch where you step if you go in the ocean. But I understand that's basically the same at most of Ile Sainte Marie's beaches.
